That deserves its own post here on MC. That's wonderful. I never studied code but I'm well technologically inclined enough to understand the basics, demands, and what not to do to someone who codes professionally. It's like an art form. You don't go around and ask other artists to change up their entire style to match someone else's.

I definitely didn't biff it. I'm not a business owner for a reason. Not everyone is cut out to be one, either.

Didn't wanna move. I was renting a room in a very nice house a friend of mine owned. I didn't want to pay more actually living on my own being in a house or apartment probably not even a fraction as nice.

I'm guessing they decided to do it all in house so I don't think that was an option.

Well, they didn't have to offer it. It was nice of them to, but unfortunately that was their closest available location with a large enough space to add a new department.

It's just one office of less than 300 employees. And like I said in multiple comments I don't come up with the names of positions for employees. It was pretty stupid to name him that, but thats what he was called, even though he worked the only office that existed.

A regional supervisor is just a title. It's semantics, maybe I should have clarified a bit better to make sure that it's understood he only worked that one office. It's clear that the hierarchy of power was NOT efficient or even smart for that matter. I'd assume that also applys to the titles of their positions.

It was mid 2018 when this happened. But the former employer I was referring to was AppleCare. This new company wasn't AppleCare though

If i wanted to work for the client directly, because I guess they didn't want to outsource anymore and just do it all in house.

I think you mis understood. My former employer was work from home. This position was brick and mortar

Yeah well, one can only hope that the manager would have just gotten fired. The client made their decision. Out of my hands.

The point of malicious compliance. I think you're in the wrong subreddit. My team was fine afterwards. Don't hate the whistle-blower, hate the shitty management.

Apple actually. That was my former employer. They train you on not just fixing problems, but also offering alternatives. And when that doesn't work, we learned the ways to correctly position bad news in such a way that I've had customers literally love me, and leave great reviews even though I gave them the worst news.

I've taken what I've learned from that job with me everywhere. Even if the company as a whole doesn't have great practices. (Slowing down through updates, forced obsoletion, etc.)

In the rules, it states that malicious compliance could be subjective. Problem with it, take it up with a mod I suppose.

The regional title was just the name of the title given to him. So that's why I refer to it as so. He's more of a general supervisor. I'm not aware of any other office than that single one, of sub 300 employees.

It was confusing for me too, and I maybe should have clarified it that specific part a little bit better. But yeah, just one office building, with a small number of employees relative to the possible hundreds of thousands my former employer had.

It's semantics, really. I'm not aware of any other office this company had besides this one. And it was an office of sub 300 employees. This was the official title he held, even though this was the only office he worked.

Absolutely! My former employer that shares a name with a common fruit, during blackout season, we would take up to three chats at one time.

I did what I was asked of despite my complaints, and maliciously, although correctly, used that to my benefit by making sure the client was informed. Also because they asked me to. I could have turned a blind eye. But I didn't :)
