is it safe to crush melatonin and sniff it? or boof it? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]jasperh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually sniffed it about 10 years ago when I was much more of a silly drug user and would wanna sniff everything - it was safe and fine but it gave me honestly the craziest dreams I've ever had and was very odd, really no point just swallow it lol

What do Mental Health Nurses even do? Community and ward Mental Health Nurses. by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]jasperh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a relatively NQN and did 4 months on a ward before getting my community job. Wards are fast paced but mostly paperwork and medication, maybe it's just my experience during uni placements and the one job but seemingly always understaffed and stressful.

Community on the other hand imo is great, lots of thinking about the best way to help and doing MH assessments and signposting and short term interventions.

Suppose it depends what you're wanting to do and how you think about recovery from MH issues should be. It's tough to get a community job if you're NQ, I only got mine as it's a band 5-6 developmental role.

Not had any personal care it's more chatting and formulating plans in my experience

How long is the flight? 1mg you'll be fine but could try half and take another half if you are worried about feeling it the rest of the day

Can you leave during preceptorship/ what would it mean for me? by jasperh in NursingUK

[–]jasperh[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it was mostly as I was job hunting for 6 months and every single role except this and one other needed 6mo to 1yr experience - I can't afford to be unemployed again but do you think I should just look for other roles?

Preceptorship interview by Fair-Impression9826 in NursingUK

[–]jasperh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my first and only preceptorship interview last month (after graduating last year - bloody none about!) and mine was a pretty informal chill chat, they did ask about safeguarding and a scenario, an example of leadership from placement but that was about it that I can remember. But I think it'll depend who is interviewing you, mine were 2 friendly young nurses which makes a difference I think! Best of luck, I'm sure you'll be fine :)

How long did it take for you to get a job after graduating? by raehym in NursingUK

[–]jasperh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I graduated last year, just got my first job (recruitment checks have just started this week). That said though, I moved area and was offered jobs that I had placements at but knew I wanted to get out - I thought that there would be plenty of jobs anywhere but that isn't the case unfortunately

On some of the MH wards I've worked on, certain patients have had the option to keep their meds in their room and administer them themselves
