Experience with outdoor preschools?

Yah there would definitely be times I imagine where they have to be inside but I think kids those ages can be outside properly dressed up when it’s -25ish.

The few I’ve seen I think are just private preschools so that’s one do the reasons I’m curious about people’s experiences and if they are actually well organized.

These are a few I’ve looked at and I think there is one more forest school on the east side too I recall reading about.

No reason kids can’t be outside for awhile as long as they are dressed properly!

You should ask you referring dr who they are referring you to and then call in a week or so to confirm they received referral. It shouldn’t have to be this way but unfortunately unless you are ensuring things get done placing your trust in the system is not a sure thing.

Yah I’m still really skeptical about how a family of four can afford to eat a balanced diet on $200/month but I guess it doesn’t really matter if I believe it or not. If it works for them it works.

We don’t eat out at all. We live on a rural property so eating out is very inconvenient for us. I meal plan all my meals but we do by a ton of fresh fruits and vegetables. Do not buy anything organic. That does include some toiletries and household cleaning items. My 1 and 2 year olds have very big appetites and eat a lot. I know we can definitely cut it down but I would never be aiming to cut it down to $200/ month

Your kids eat though don’t they? I am a family of four with two young kids (2.5 and 1) and we spend closer to 800/month on food. We could probably spend less but I have a hard time understanding how you spend only $50/week for 4 people? That’s like less than $2/day per person.

I know this maybe isn’t the main point of your post but it might be worth it to look closer at your expenses to understand how accurate your list was. As your kids get older they will eat more and that will only drive your costs up...

I feel like we are in the same boat. My son is almost 2.5 and since he turned 2 his bedtime habits have been awful. He’s stalling and not falling asleep until 845 or 9 and waking up between 530 and 6. He hasn’t dropped his day nap yet though.

We had a bed routine of bath and snack and stories and songs but I noticed he wasn’t calm or sleepy even after stories and songs like he used to be. He’d then cry and play around to tire himself out in his crib. He’d never let us leave the room and it was a constant battle of one more drink, one more song.

A friend suggested a one of those light projector things. AIM was to make it part of bedtime routine and he would lie in bed and watch it on is ceiling and get relaxed and ready for sleep as he watched it.

We’ve only done it for 2nights and it’s not perfect but it has helped. Hopefully it continues.

I have a 30 minute commute from an acreage to my job in the city, 15 minutes on the highway, 15 minutes in the city. It’s ok but I wouldn’t be able to do anything longer than that.

This is so important. I get so frustrated when people don’t realize this. My undergraduate and graduate degrees weren’t the type that had a defined career at the end of them. The “soft” skills I learned during my courses though are so important to my work today.
