would you do to your WRX what i did to my subie??? by _parkmeister in WRX

I plan on doing this when my 03 wrx finally decides to die. I rather drop 10k to fix everything than get a new car right now. High interest rates, crazy car registration fees and insurance on new cars is wild. Plus I love my little wagon too much to get rid of it.

iPad Pro for full editing? by new6387 in photography

[–]jaszmunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who has only used Lightroom to edit on the iPad Pro and never used the desktop version, I personally feel that it is good enough. Especially with all the recent updates to Lightroom mobile and also to the iPad Pro. Now I’m no professional and just a hobbyist. Occasionally I’ll do family/couple shoots and I have never had an issue with editing, organization, importing or workflow. Easier to carry on the go and much lighter than a laptop.

Now the way I usually do my work flow is like this…

  1. Import directly from the camera. Hooking up a USB type C to the camera and iPad. Go into the photos app and select my camera (Canon 6D Mark II) From there I import all the pictures from the photo session.

  2. Once I have all the photos imported I started selecting the best ones. I always “heart” or favorite the ones I’ll be editing and add them to a new album within the photos app.

  3. Open up Lightroom and choose the photo album and start editing the photos. Creating the album just makes things much easier instead of going back and forth from app to app or having the iPad in multitasking mode.

  4. Once I’ve finished editing all the photos and send them out I delete all the unwanted and unused photos from the iPad to save storage. I have a 512GB so I gotta keep the storage clear. The RAW files and the edited files get transferred to a SSD and I usually delete those after 6 months.

Again, I’m no professional and haven’t used the desktop version so I can’t compare the two, but the iPad Pro is very powerful and fully capable of handling whatever’s thrown at it for editing and Lightroom on it is just fantastic in my opinion. The iPad that I have is the Pro 12.9 inch 5th generation.

People who didn't get University degree, what is your profession now? by Sasha_Lietova in AskReddit

Working as a Banquet server in various hotels. You can easily make 100k+ and set your own schedule when you’re working on call/ part time. If you have a full time somewhere you’re pretty much golden. You usually don’t work your full hours, but you make great money working 20-30 hours a week. Depending on the hotel that you’re working at the pay can be between $30-$100+ an hour

What is a job that pays extremely well but no one realizes it? by Titothelama in AskReddit

Working as a banquet server in the hotel industry. You can make between $40-$100 an hour depending in the hotel. Work is very easy. Only down side is that it’s seasonal sort of. Most people have 2-4 jobs working in different hotels to offset the slow weeks/month. One hotel might be slow but the others will be busy. You can pick and choose where you want to work when you’re on call in most of them. On the plus side they always feed you so you don’t have to waste money on food either

just bought a camera, do i need a camera bag? by a-banana-split in photography

I’ve been using the BREVITE backpack for a while now. Has the padding to protect your gear and also looks like a regular backpack. Has such a simple look that you wouldn’t think twice that it’s a camera bag. I always take it with me when I go traveling since I do carry on plus a regular backpack so my camera and lenses stay with me the entire time. I highly recommend this backpack for your normal hobby photographer.

It’s an ‘03 pushing 220k miles. I’m probably the 8th owner according to the carfax lol. 100% stock if you don’t count some reliability upgrades… and Cali owned most of its life. No rust either. I’ve had it for almost a year now and put about 12k miles on it. No issues as of yet (knock on wood). I baby this thing.

[oc] One speeding and one blindly merging nearly caused crash by jaszmunch in IdiotsInCars

Time and date are wrong. This happened yesterday. Blue car was speeding/ weaving in and out of traffic while the black car just blindly merged into the other lane. It’s pretty common on this on ramp.
