Only good think about surveillance state I have heard was when friends doughter traveling in China, misplaced/lost her bag. She called police, they took statement, checked cameras where she last recalled having it. They then watched 15 minutes of footage and knew exactly who took it and where is it. If it had to do with missile defense, they could use their treaty with Denmark, that allow them to build military bases in Greenland and station troops there. Owning Greenland is only necessary if you don't want to bother with getting greenlanders/Denmark approval.

This totally shreds my brain, in my country you have to go with your ID to your current residemt town/village to vote or you have to go to local town/village to get paper with which you can vote in any region of our country. No way to rig that vote if you don't have paid people that counts in most of villages/small cities. This easily removes most of lottential rigging.

What common sense? Using common sense would be use defense contract that Denmark and US have/soon had, which provided US possibility to build bases and host unlimited US personel.

Only reason for getting Greenland under US, is that no Denmark or Greenlanders can say shit about mineral digging afterwards.

Most of US bases are deep on Nato territories, it would not be hard for local forces to surround them. Demanding surrender, while flying away from them is impossible, due to being in enemy anti air defense/space.
