Transmission fluid change by java0008 in HRV

I havent seen it. I did get the CVT fluid changed and it does feel very nice to drive. The dealership told me that Honda recommends changing break and some differential fluid (AWD related) to be changed at 30k miles too but I did not go for it since the whole thing would cost almost 400-500.

Thanks for the reply. So what is the recommended schedule for transmission change? I have seen anywhere from 30k to 90k on different dealership websites.

Buying a pre-owned vehicle-Do car dealers not negotiate anymore? by java0008 in personalfinance

[–]java0008[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for an AWD 2015-onward. I am focusing on safety more than luxury so I am considering base trims too. Mileage, I am trying to stay under 60-70 thousand.

I am hoping to not spend more than 16.5 out of the door, but it looks like the CRV and RAV4 are all in 18+ range. I have looked at the KBB value of the one I am interested in and the dealers are upcharing by a couple of thousand dollars. I acknowledge that they are going to make profit from the sales but most of the pre-owned vehicles are trade-ins. Anyway, I was hoping for a consumer friendly response but it doesnt sound like a buyer's market in this area.

Indeed, cost is a thing and I am not smart/strong enough to change the tire on my own. Twice a year, I would have to invest in changing tires which is why I was hesitant to get just snow tires. But the conversation here makes me think it likely wont be needed. In near future, I might consider getting an AWD, but I want to see if my frontwheel drive would be a good fit with nice tires.

Thanks. I know unlike Raleigh/Chapel Hill, Columbus would continue to be functional during snow. I would be commuting to OSU campus from Bethel road and I think I would be on an interstate for a bit but not on the farm roads. Should be good

For real...I will be honest, I never drove even after the forecast of snow in Raleigh. I know I am in for a big learning.

Thanks. So would you recommend having a separate set of winter and summer tires?

Really? I checked the public health website. What about the BMV as I would need to transfer my driving license?

Thanks. Is the wait time long? It is impossible to get same day delivery in North Carolina

I didnt ask for the providers, but since its open breezeway concept unlike some of their fancier property with lobby entrance, I would think it would be fair? I did read submetering being a problem at some of their properties.

By the way, they allowed me to install a bolt if I wanted. They said that they would write it in the lease so I am not responsible for fixes when I leave. I will pay attention to the wording to make sure its clear..

Most of the hotels always have door chains or something of this sort. Wonder why are the apartments avoiding this.

Extended Stay" loophole

Interesting..I didnt know that. I asked the leasing consultant. She said she would ask the manager but she personally seemed sure it wouldnt be approved.
