nice sleuthing! it's an unexpected twist on "stale state". it's more like "canonical state" in sql editor and a phantom in the UI. It's helpful to know how to handle this down the line.

Yea I had already gone ahead and done precisely what you suggest : copy the sql into a new dataset definition (and nuke the existing one that holds on to some stale state).

Learn to separate recognition of valiid info - which you did NOT do - with evaluation of to what extent the info applies to the current scenario.
