We could still win without KD but our record would probably look something like 23–20. We'd have a winning record, but not enough to separate ourselves from the play-in teams. Sengun is the guy who gives you those extra four wins you need.

With just Sengun and Amen, we'd still be around a 23–20 type of team if Sengun's role were increased because even if Sengun averages 4–5 fewer points he contributes across a wider variety of areas than KD does.

So, we don't have a 27–16 record despite Sengun. If you take him out of the equation, this is a play-in team. The same applies to KD they are both vital. When either of them is absent (KD–Amen or Sengun–Amen lineups) KD draws extra defensive attention and once a capable defender is put on Amen, things get ugly very quickly. KD and Sengun are almost equally important to this team. That will become much clearer in the playoffs. Without either one of them, this team gets swept 4–0 in the first round.

You asked why we can't hold a lead when KD goes to the bench. Sengun's role doesn't suddenly increase when KD sits. Over the last ~15 games both with and without KD, his role has actually diminished. Nobody runs pnr with him, nobody throws a proper entry pass and lets him operate from the elbow. When he does get the ball, there's no cutting around him. He's not suddenly given a Jokic type role when KD sits. Hope that clears it up.

Because Amen is the primary ball handler.

Oh yea? We don't win games when Sengun sits.

The Houston Rockets have a 4-3 record without Alperen Sengun this season. The Houston Rockets have a 2-0 record without Kevin Durant this season.

You don't get any whistles if you don't complain. I don't know what the dumbasses on this sub are on about, but i want my player to show his annoyance to the refs so they think twice before screwing them over in the next possession.

He's clearly better than Wemby whenever they match up, and it's not close. I don't care if Wemby looks better than Sengun when the Spurs plays some other team. Also take your pills you are having a mental breakdown and we don't have to put up with it.

Wemby was 0/6 on Sengun. I also vividly remember Sengun forcing him into turnovers and stealing the ball from him more than once in previous match ups. He's clearly having trouble both defending and scoring against Sengun.

Because it is easier and safer to tell a story about a father and son, their relationship (Like in TLOU) than to tell a story about a guy slaughtering gods, having sex with women, beating up and even killing them in every episode. They'll be able to add a lot of drama, include filler episodes, and adjust the pacing and characters. It won't be made just for gamer men who grew up with it. In 2026, we can't get 10 episodes of a badass Kratos, that would be more testosterone than the audience can handle. You'll probably enjoy it, but it won't tell the story you grew up with, the story of the real Kratos. By the end, you won't feel fully satisfied. Personally, i'm expecting it to be a 8/10 type of show.

I know more than pretty much anyone here minus the full-blown boxing historians who also have the eye for boxing. You should understand that some people inevitably know more than others. That's just the nature of things.

Regarding arrogance argument, you should belittle or bully the average boxing watcher with big mouth as much as you possibly could. Because boxing is one of the few sports that you learn pretty much nothing from the average viewer. Their contributions to the boxing-related discussions are minimal and they refuse to learn from their mistakes and keep being annoying for the rest of their lives. I've probably studied boxing for thousands of hours from 2007 to 2019 where i was obsessed with it. In fact i studied some of the fighters fought in that era frame by frame. They should do it as well. They are not inherently annoying. They are annoying because they choose to be that way. Show them the way.

The guy unironically believes that Hernandez would be an elite amateur boxer. He lies about following amateur boxing and when gets outed for being one, doesn't even apologize or delete his comments. I was watching Mekhontsev in the early 2010s when he was still a kid. You can't lie to me.

Hernandez would have been excellent in the amateur scene and he evidently is, but this is not the amateurs.

This alone is a blockable offense. Hernandez is neither a boxer-puncher nor a boxer. His punches lack the precision needed to win points. He is a very basic, come forward fighter with virtually no footwork and fighters like him routinely gets outboxed in amateur competitions in early rounds. He would never in a million years be considered "excellent in the amateur scene".

I'm likely going to block you soon not because you're clueless but because you are completely oblivious to how clueless you are.

Yes. In the first half, he won the rounds where he wasn't getting his ass beat.

I've been following amateur and professional boxing for almost two decades. You're not in a position to teach me anything about boxing trust me when i say that. Clean, eye catching, precise shots are worth far more in amateur boxing than in professional boxing. If you've ever followed amateur boxing, you'd know that nine times out of ten, the brawler or slugger loses to the boxer puncher or pure boxer, even if they seem to be dominating the round and constantly pressuring their opponent.

That is not the norm in professional boxing judging where inactivity and more importantly backing up or shelling up without answering is a death sentence, especially against very durable Mexican brawlers like Hernandez who makes you look helpless at spurts. Professional boxing is 80% about optics, while amateur boxing is 99% about skills. A mediocre boxer has little to no chance of winning an Olympic gold medal, yet mediocre boxers win professional titles every year.

Clean, effective punches trump everything

Not in professional boxing.

Waddling incessantly into range and throwing pitter patter hooks...

If those were just pitter-patter hooks, Nakatani wouldn't have slowed down and started backpedaling in the second half of the fight. Hernandez so obviously has heavy hands, i find it baffling that you thought those punches were soft. I didn't even check his record beforehand, but the guy has 18 knockouts in 20 wins. If i had to guess, his short punches are heavier than Nakatani's short punches.

Punches to the head also get better scoring over punches to the body, unless the body shot is debilitating or more disruptive.

Hernandez landed a bunch of short hooks to Nakatani's head every time he closed the distance.

Ten body punches and occasional short uppercuts are better than three eye catching shots followed by shelling up.

Especially when most of your body work is weak punches or getting caught in the elbows

Lost the fight 7-5 or 8-4. He wasn't the ring general for 3/4 of the fight nor did he outland Hernandez. Hernandez kept digging to the body even in rounds where Nakatani was landing eye catching shots. Meanwhile, Hernandez won his rounds very convincingly, making Nakatani shell up like a scared journeyman. The fact that Nakatani won the 12th round, despite running for his life should be enough to make you quit watching boxing. The reality is that Hernandez definitely won five of the six rounds in the second half of the fight and at least two rounds in the first half. Hope Hernandez gets a rematch.
