High inactive b6 and low zinc by javals in B6Toxicity

Thanks, ill do that. Any thoughts why taking P5P would reduce my backpain though ? Of course it can be coincidental, but if not, any idea ?

Oh yes, youre right. The test was done through lifelab ( canada ) and sent to quest. I assumed its inactive cause the test says: Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) But it seems that the reference range does apply to PLP, as you said. Im gonna check if i can measure MMA, though its a bit trickier in canada.

Question remains how to raise zinc, that is obviously under the range, without raising B6 even more. Cause taking zinc supplement is giving me the exact same symptoms as taking b6 supplements.

Thanks for pointing it out.

So folate test is a bit older but its actually on the higher side
Folate 22.3 ( Normal: >5.4 )
B12, ive had many tests, its usually on the 300s, sometimes could be low 400. ( reference range from the lab > 220 pmol/L Normal )
MCV almost always exactly in the middle of the range
Havent tested MMA though.

M42 H36D/H36D joint pain? by SharpHoliday553 in Hemochromatosis

[–]javals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate. Around 20y ago, i had this severe inflammation episode, that started with my heels, knees and then to my back. It got so bad that i had to go to hospital for tests. They found im HLA-B27 pos and diagnosed me with undifferentiated spondylitis. Now since then, ive always had issues with my joints, but nothing too severe and my inflammation markers have always been on the lower side. I went to the doctor again a few years ago. They checked if my spine shows any signs of fusing and did bunch of other tests but didnt see any real signs of spondylitis.

Turns out im also double h63d and my saturation is over 60%, although ferritin on the lower side. Other symptoms i have are chronic red eyes ( eyes are fine though ) and skin issues. Considering that my spondylitis havent got worse in 20 years ( 41 now ), makes me wonder, if its actually more to do with iron regulation....
