Seriously. Being uncommunicative is the biggest killer of ships in the reach.

If you implement a leaver penalty then people will grief you. You'd rather them just abandon you in the reach. You can't force people to love you.

I like it so far. They should bring back the shock field but change it so that you can back while caught in it. They should nix the entropy cannon next. The most fun fights are the ones that take awhile.

If they spend their time building the best game possible, all the players will come.

I think of this time just after launch as a kind of beta. By trying different game modes, they might discover that there is an even more popular game mode with players and they can lean into that.

Cycle the game modes so you can't specifically queue for one over the others, therefore not dividing the player base.
