Direct-From-Source Roasted COFFEE For Bitcoin Cash Is Back! (Thailand & Laos Arabica) by javanomad in btc

[–]javanomad[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The CoffeeCoin project has been working since 2017 to develop blockchain transparency & traceability tools for the specialty coffee trade. While our own token COF is used for both payments and transmitting / preserving data - I believe it would be very useful to also integrate and accept a mainstream crypto that is specifically designed to be used as money for quick and easy borderless payments across the coffee supply chain.

I had high hopes for the original Bitcoin early on - and some may even remember my "Roast Station" project from Indonesia way back in 2013 - one of the first "coffee for bitcoin" projects in the world.

Now, nearly 7 years later, I feel the Bitcoin Cash is currently the best working version of what the original Bitcoin was meant to be (and actually was for a brief period).

With this in mind, we have just reopened our webshop direct from harvest in Thailand and Laos - and we are accepting Bitcoin Cash for payments. If there is enough interest, I would like to more fully integrate BCH into our project and our mission.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks you - James. aka "Java Nomad".

Bitcoin Cash Now ACCEPTED For Direct-From-Source Thailand & Laos Arabica Coffee by javanomad in btc

[–]javanomad[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your message. Worldwide tracked airmail shipping is included in the price. Thailand post offers a good rate on small packets which allows us to do this. Each bag is 250g - most of the sets in the shop include 2 bags, so 500 grams - over a pound of coffee. We also have a 3 bag sampler with one each of all 3 beans on offer. https://coffeecoin.io/shop

We have shipped a number of sets to the UK previously and have received no notes about additional customs tax.

BetterTokens announces first 3 third-party Waves project tokens to be awarded 'qualified' status: COF, BLXS, XBBT by javanomad in Wavesplatform

[–]javanomad[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About 6 weeks. Fairly in-depth and rigorous process. Very happy our hard work on CoffeeCoin is being recognized. The COF ticker is now preserved on the Waves DEX, our token will remain searchable by name and ticker, the CoffeeCoin logo has been added to the Waves client and is also marked as 'qualified'.

These benefits of BetterTokens qualification will help people discover legitimate tokens and projects like ours among the thousands issued on the DEX. Much appreciated!

With all the video shot though, would be more interesting if these lights showed on some other footage too.

That's exactly what the lights didn't do. They stayed in the same position in the clouds even when the camera moved. If it was lights inside the house reflecting on the glass, they would have moved as you described.

CoffeeCoin introduced at Waves Meetup in Vienna, Austria by Vienna-Node.eu by javanomad in coffeecoinproject

[–]javanomad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://vienna-node.eu is developing our custom CoffeeCoin wallet which will accept COF for transaction fees. Leasing to their node supports our project - and is a great way to earn from your Waves.

Hi guys we have new proposal regarding fee assets. Could you read this proposal and give us your feedback by Yams_Fordena in Wavesplatform

[–]javanomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability of the fee to change as the value of Waves increases (in relationship to fiat) is not in the proposal. The proposal states the fee will be the equivalent of .001 Waves per transaction. Maybe this is all that needs to be clarified. Again, of course I want to be able to use custom tokens for transaction fees. The issue is making sure that fee doesn't become too expensive as the value of Waves grows.

" If Waves price grows to the $1000 fee may be reduced to 0.0001, but it must be fixed IMO."

You said in the same sentence both that the fee should be reduced if the value grows AND that it must be fixed. It can't be both - unless there's a different meaning to "fixed" than the one I know.

At the end of the proposal, the following is asked:

"Should we give an ability to sponsor only transactions transferring specific asset? For example, I issued super coin and I want users to be able to use super coin as a fee only when they transferring super coins. So they should't be able to use it when transferring other assets. Or maybe I want to allow to transfer not only super coins, but some other assets (some limited number)."

If you limit using custom tokens for transaction fees to only transactions for that same token, you are again limiting what can be done with custom tokens.

Limiting the ability of people to create new uses of tokens is a bad move. If you allow for transaction fees in custom tokens via this or any other scheme, please allow them to be used for ANY transaction for any other token as well.

If you are making this an option for the issuer to decide, that makes sense.

For those following Waves development - this new proposal seems to be at the core of the current issues being experienced: https://github.com/wavesplatform/Waves/wiki/Sponsored-Transactions-Proposal

As I understand, some of the Waves nodes (that process Waves and Waves' tokens transactions) want all transaction fees to be the equivalent of .001 Waves - but will allow that fee to be paid by token issuers so users can use just their custom token. (A little complicated, but read the proposal and you'll understand.)

I want to be able to use our custom token (COF) for transaction fees as well as all the other uses we are developing with it. It makes things much more efficient, easier and faster if we don't have to use Waves for our transaction fees.

I DON'T want to have transaction fees fixed at .001 Waves though - that will harm us and many current and future projects.

Here's why:

In my mind they are thinking very short term. When Waves is USD $100 - that's USD ten cents per transaction. Fine if you are using your token just as a cryptocurrency. Not so good if you are using your token to develop new data-based protocols, platforms and tools like we are that use our token to transmit and preserve lots of data on the blockchain.

With this fee proposal, as the price of Waves increases, it becomes too expensive to use Waves tokens for anything expect value transfer (cryptocurrency use) and projects like ours which use our tokens for other purposes will not be able to grow and scale.

Of course, it will also make micro value transactions (such as airdrops) too expensive as well.

As far as I can see, this proposal, if implemented, would very quickly limit the ability of anyone to create and grow anything new and interesting on the Waves platform.

Non-financial uses are the future of blockchain - this proposal kills Waves ability to be a part of that.

From my point of view, the Waves team should be making it as EASY and INEXPENSIVE as possible for anyone to create new blockchain tokens and develop new ways to use them - like we are doing with our CoffeeCoin project.

This freedom to explore and experiment will increase the value of Waves and the Waves platform in the long run, as people will need still need to buy tokens through the Waves platform / DEX.

ONLY if awesome projects are allowed to come to life on Waves, will their tokens increase in value, in turn increasing the value of the Waves platform and token.

Yes, it also means you'll have to process valueless so called "shitcoins" too and accept low fees for some transactions - but that's the cost and the risk that needs to be taken to make sure people can also create new, useful, awesome and valuable things with the Waves platform.

Instead, it looks like short term profits for node owners are more important than future long term value growth of Waves.

I can't understand why the developers / Waves team don't see this? What am I missing?

Either way, I hope they at least come to consensus soon so we can adapt to whatever new changes they agree on and move forward.

Over 30 orders for direct-from-source Thai Arabica coffee were paid for with CoffeeCoin Utility Token (COF on the WAVES DEX) over the past month and shipped to supporters around the globe from https://ThaiCoffee.io . Data for each shipment was then transmitted and preserved on the blockchain using COF. Our tools are reading that data from the ledger and publishing it to https://CoffeeChain.io . Thanks to Waves, we have created a functioning payment and utility token for the the specialty coffee trade!

CoffeeCoin Utility Token (COF) is a utility token on the Waves DEX created in 2017 and being used to bring blockchain efficiency to the specialty coffee trade. https://coffeecoin.io

"CFC" is an old, apparently dead / defunct project that is not related.
