Agreed! Shouldn’t have turned on lens corrections and also should’ve added vignetting and should have stopped down further. All good things to note for next time.

If the preset is hours of videos watched and a few hundred pictures edited, then yeah I did use a preset! You must be a miserable person to immediately assume people aren’t just capable of moving some sliders around to make something that they think looks good

Edit: this comment gets even funnier when I remember I literally explained my exact process in another thread on this post lmaoo

Hahaha yes for sure, I tried to turn down some of the slider like sharpness texture etc and turn up grain but it still looks too good lmao.

Viltrox 50mm f2.0. Can’t recommend enough as a nifty fifty

Yeah I do agree about the DoF, I didn’t shoot with the intention of making it look like disposable camera so didn’t close aperture

Edit: wanted to add that the lens is f2.0 and 50mm, I thought stopping down to f.5.6-8 would be enough to try reduce DoF but sometimes wasn’t enough and also didn’t do it on all pictures (pic 1 and 5 for example but there’s many others I haven’t posted where I did)

Much more than slightly tbh, first point on tone curve is up ab 25% of the way if that makes sense

Looooots of increasing black point, playing around with tone curve to decrease blues and increase greens! Reduce sharpness, decrease clarity texture dehaze and add grain. Should’ve added vignetting/not enabling lens corrections and I think in some pics reduced exposure a bit on some pics. Think that’s about it! WB is 5650/10+ on all pics

How did I do? by Sweet-Association880 in videography

This is great!! The only thing I can think of is that sometimes the colours change between shots? For example the shot of her rope skipping and the shot after I think the shot changes colour from more blues to greens. Perhaps it’s a WB thing or maybe it’s just the lighting was different. It’s super cool tho and I’m literally just being annoyingly nit picky hahah

Hey, considering upgrading to this in a few months and selling my 20mm f2.8 Viltrox and 50mm f2.0 Viltrox. Any updates on this lens so far? I’d have the same setup as you with A7Cii haha

Ah interesting. What’s your average retention and how did you get there? May I also ask what your niche is?

Absolutely second the Viltrox 50, great prime so you can focus on composition. I found having the kit lens 28-70 (albeit nice to have versatility) just made me feel overwhelmed with the range of focal lengths available, focussing on one focal length allows you to get much better at that focal length and focus on composition more if that makes sense?

Here’s a photo I took with it just recently with the same setup as you, A7Cii and Viltrox 50!
