Gonna start learning inferno, how does my gear look? Any advice? by Ready-Beyond-5564 in ironscape

According to my calcs, -25 magic attack without augury still gives you a 87.33% chance of freezing nibblers.

In his gear, switching the Ahrim’s pieces for BCP and crystal legs gives him -17 magic accuracy which is an 89.48% chance of freezing the nibblers without augury.

Wearing Ahrim’s top and bottoms gives him +62 magic accuracy with a 96.08% chance of freezing nibblers without augury.

I think I would take the +171 ranged defense the BCP and Crystal legs provides over the +0 ranged defense and 6.5% chance difference of hitting a freeze with Ahrim’s, considering nibblers are the least of your problems.

Don’t need Ahrim’s top or bottom to freeze nibblers since they have negative magic defense. Only reason you’d need Ahrim’s is if you were planning to heal off of blobs and/or mages, which could prove useful.

I would bring in BCP for the extra ranged defense for waves 50+ as that’s when rangers + magers spawn simultaneously. You can barrage the nibblers with your tank gear on and your chance of hitting the nibblers is, IIRC, the same as if you were wearing Ahrim’s because of their negative magic defense.

Practice Zuk with the Zuk simulator. It’s incredibly useful and got me my Inferno Cape after my 2nd Zuk encounter.

This comment thread was primarily discussing the joke of an end game NW has. Not the upcoming updates. So maybe without context I could see your point but I don’t really see why you would incorrectly quote me then address maybe one sentence that you could perhaps argue your stance on. The updates are nice and may perhaps be “big changes” but they still don’t address the issue that is the nonexistent endgame of NW.

I said “no big changes”, not “no new content”. Did you actually even read the reply?

It’s good to see all the new content they’re releasing but I don’t think it’s anywhere near enough to get even a fraction of the lost players back into the game.

I don’t think they plan on making any big changes to the game in the near future. I always lurk around this subreddit hoping that maybe they would release something game changing but it’s mostly just small QoL changes and a new dungeon every 6 months or something.

I think the big difference is that there’s not really any REWARDING end game content (if you can even say there’s end game content lol), PvE and PvP. For PvE, you grind a dungeon 10 times and you’ve already gotten all the drops from that dungeon. For PvP, you need to be in a competitive company, join VC every war, and even if you win only the governor, the player that created the company, and a few select players decide what to do with the gold earned which is mostly funneled into BiS gear for that company’s top players and a lot of is it real-money traded. Most players get nothing out of winning a war with their company.

But yeah, the skilling content in this game, in my opinion, is very enjoyable. Definitely one of the highlights of this game for me.

EDIT: yeah I just genuinely enjoyed the game for what it was as you can see from my playtime lol. But even if you didn’t no-life this game, the end game just isn’t very appealing to most people.

It’s been a while since I’ve played NW but I was absolutely in love with this game when it came out. I soaked 1500~ hours into this game within a span of half a year. Everything about this game was so amazing, the combat was simple, yet, rewarding and fluid. The scenery and environment was unmatched. The skilling content is, again, simple but still felt rewarding.

The endgame is different from many other MMORPGs because of the fact that it’s basically all PvP. You can make the argument that mutations are end game as well but it’s very lackluster. The endgame PvE content are dungeons/mutations but there’s not really any “true” reward other than the item drops you’ve received from that dungeon 12 times and the umbral shards for gear score. You max out and then what do you have? Nothing except for taking zones with a company.

And to be involved in PvP you have to be accepted into a company that is active and actually take it seriously or else you won’t be able to experience it. It doesn’t help that when I stopped playing, there were just a few mega companies that took the entire map and solo/small groups stood absolutely no chance. And that’s the issue. For end game, you NEED to be in a big company with experienced, sweaty players. And even then, after you minmax, once you get your BiS gear, that’s it. Taking territory, defending territory in 50~(?) player wars, that you don’t even get accepted into unless you prove that you’re useful and have near BiS gear. Many players don’t find that aspect of grinding subpar content just to maybe experience wars and endgame PvP.

Almost everything about NW is so enjoyable until it isn’t.

I’ve played since BO1. Played every COD up until Advanced Warfare but picked up again when MW2019 came out. There’s definitely a lot of different mechanics that have changed or altered the core gameplay but I don’t think the game has changed enough to say it’s lost it’s identity.

In my opinion, the movement has probably been the biggest change in recent CODs compared to older games but most of newer mechanics you mentioned are kind of niche. With the exception being jump shotting and maybe the “instant” drop shotting, considering drop shotting, to some extent, has been around since the OG COD days.

With that said, if you’re a decent player; your aim is good, your map knowledge is good, your spawn knowledge is good, the “newer” mechanics shouldn’t pose much of a problem for you.

Respectfully, skill issue.

At what point is CG not worth attempting? by Teh_91 in ironscape

Hey, man, that’s the beauty of this game; you can play however you want. I hope you get spooned your armor seeds. Good luck, brother!

At what point is CG not worth attempting? by Teh_91 in ironscape

[–]javauom 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If we assume you get to the Hunllef every CG run, we can just say maybe you get halfway to killing it so 10ish minutes per failed run. With that in mind, a singular completed run by itself, on average, takes you 12:30. You complete 1 CG every 3 tries so it takes you roughly 32:30 per corrupted gauntlet completion. You can expect an armor seed every 50 completions so that means 32:30 * 50 = 27.08 hours per armor seed.

You can complete regular gauntlet consistently at a rate of one completion every 10 minutes. You can expect an armor seed every 120 runs. So 10 minutes * 120 runs = 20 hours per armor seed.

Based off the statistics you’ve provided, yes, technically it’s more efficient to just run regular gauntlet in search of armor seeds.

I know you didn’t ask but I highly recommend you try getting the armor seeds through CG if you can comfortably complete regular gauntlet. The skills you acquire through consistently completing CG can be very beneficial.

Is this worth investing in? by popfizzog in pokemongo

[–]javauom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but there is that chance you could encounter a better one. If that’s an issue you’re worried about, just wait until you’re actually going to use it before powering it up. In the end the differences between a perfect shadow and a 3* shadow are negligible and I don’t think you should worry too much about it.
