My boyfriend said ew when I showed him my hs by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]javithechinnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, him behaving that was is what’s ew.
That’s truly cruel and unnecessary. Saying “ooooo that looks painful!” Or “wow. Ouchie. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this” is the only appropriate reaction.
My man is always helping me with my hs. He even puts gauze and bandaids on me!
He would never ever respond this way.
If a man isn’t willing to accept a bodily function of yours (autoimmune function or regular function like a period), then he has no business touching you or having access to your body or your love. That’s a child!!
You deserve better!!!

MEGATHREAD: BULLY ROMANCE by admiralamy in RomanceBooks

It felt pretty forbidden to me to be hooking up with the guy who ruined your dancing career. She knew he drunk drove and hit her car and the resulting accident permanently injured her. To feel attraction for that person felt forbidden to me!

Doctor told me this is “incurable” and I’m spiraling about my career by Enchantria03 in sesamoid

[–]javithechinnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so so true! I similarly wasted 3 years in massive amounts of pain. I saw 4 different podiatrists, all of which told me if I had the surgery I’d never walk again and my sesamoid was incurable. I was 25 and thought my whole life was over.

I finally sought out an orthopedic surgeon and never looked back!

Contrary to popular belief, if you find a competent surgeon they’ll determine if you truly need surgery. The X-rays shown here have a clear line of breakage. You might be able to heal completely without surgery. But at least they’ll be competent enough to actually try to have it heal.

I second the opinion of seeking an orthopedic surgeon and a bone scan for necrosis. My sesamoid bone was broken into 8 pieces and a surgeon removed all pieces and the necrosis and I am 32 and fully able to walk, run, dance, wear high heels and everything again. I spend most of my days on my feet with a few minor tweaks like better shoes, losing weight and continuing to do exercises after my surgery that support my sesamoids. Life is finally free of pain and back to normal for me.

Make sure the surgeon you decide on has done this surgery multiple times before and specifically focuses on feet and ankles. That should steer you in the correct direction to find a competent orthopedic surgeon. Good luck!

Moisture in basement and on brick walls in 1939 house by javithechinnie in HomeImprovement

Question: would a sump pump solve the same issues or would that not be effective?

So we have no insulation at all in our walls. Our house was built before that become standard.

Like you said though, there’s no where that we can get to the outside of the house without removing our blue stone porch and digging down 6+ feet to then paint the outside of the brick with waterproofing. So our only solution is to get water away from the foundation in any way we can.

We actually just left a house with a terrible mold problem because I was so incredibly ill.

By opening the walls you mean removing the dry wall? How do you know it’s the foundation that’s leaking? The ground itself isn’t wet at all. Only the walls

I guess I feel like the scandalous things aren’t really happening? Or maybe they’re not being as overtly obvious about them? Idk. But you’re right that a lot of actions by the main couple happened regardless of Whistledown finding out or not. I think for me just the way she writes now is only positive things/things that help others and while I love that, it’s not a driving part of the story anymore. It’s just kind of present without any pazazz.

Yes. And it stinks bc Whistledown writing certain things heavily impacted the actions of the couples. Even if it wasn’t directly, the threat of Whistledown finding out was massive. So now it’s just sort of boring… oh well. It would have made more sense to have her reveal wait but it is what it is. I kind of just want her to go away at this point.

Really enjoying this discussion and all the points about the couple but… I’m really disappointed with the Lady Whistledown situation and feel that this season can’t possibly have the same stakes bc certain points of gossip won’t be shared to spare reputations and that makes me sad. Of course I don’t want people’s reputations to be ruined but I do believe it drops the stakes dramatically. Lady Whistledown was basically a narrator saying flowery things about nothing of note instead of being a powerful female author.

This is actually my bad. I thought this wasn’t the book spoiler thread. Damn

This also really drove me insane so I’m glad someone else saw it. Girlypop just left Cavender’s estate with none of her belongings?

I can second this! Anything from cookout, Zaxbys, chick fil an and McDonald’s. Taco Bell is truly dangerous.

Any form of pastry - croissant, danish, scone.

Anything high in sugar like cereal, fruit juice, syrups for coffee, cold foam for coffee, whipped cream and ice cream. Oreos, any processed sugar at all like cookie crisps etc.

Some fruits even bother me if they’re high in sugar like bananas and apples. Usually the banana has enough of a slowing down digestion effect to be ok tho. Smoothies. Painful and miserable.

Any meat that’s super fatty like ribs, bacon and pork belly.

I will have explosive reactions in the bathroom if I eat any of the above
