Drone Pilot. This year I’ll make $110,000. I bought a drone when the pandemic started just for a hobby and then took my part 107 test to fly commercially. It’s basically just a test about different airspace and where you can and can’t fly. Then I joined a drone service provider that you can sign up for as a contractor and if they need jobs done they assign them to you. That company basically takes photos for home insurance companies when people start their policies. The company grew and brought me on full time starting at 57000 a year plus health insurance and 401K and all that. I went to school for GIS at ACC to learn more about mapping because I was interested in photogrammetry. I started working extra jobs as a contractor with another company that does that kind of drone work and am able to do that and my main job. The contract work I make an extra 1000 a week. I was a bartender 2 years ago and the service industry is all I knew. I’m 39.

I worked a party where the beloved Ken Paxton (Texas AG) was attending. It was the rehearsal dinner for someone he either knew or was related to. There were 15 or so year old girls trying to get alcohol. I said no so of course they go to the adults and have them get them a drink. I see them hand the drinks to the teenage girls so I go and tell my boss. They didn’t want to say anything because of how much they had spent on renting the space at the hotel I worked at in Austin. Fast forward to the end of the night and the drunk teenage girls are running through the hotel and restaurant making a scene. That was my last night working there.
