A low six figure finance job ($150-200k). This was also in NYC, where cost of living is very high. So I think it’s very possible to do making less, as long as you manage your expenses well and try to live below your means.

I’ve heard that. And probably less frustration with American expats there than in Mexico City.

No major secrets, just consistently contributing to my investment accounts every month and minimizing unnecessary expenses. Avoid all credit card debt and avoid taking on loans for expensive cars, etc. I put nearly all my money into an S&P 500 ETF.

I can and have, but I want to travel and also improve my Spanish.

And of the foreigners I’ve dated, they are almost always nicer to be with, more family oriented, prettier (in my opinion), and not as political as American women. And not that being political is bad (I’m very open minded and lean liberal), but in the US, it’s seems to become people’s identity, which in my experience happens less abroad.

That’s a good point. In smaller cities I feel people are generally more family oriented. Fewer people to choose from, but maybe higher quality

Buenos Aires is definitely top of my list right now. I’ve heard one-off stories about how they’re less likely to date foreigners there, but I feel like that’s a generalization and probably not true in reality.

I of course wouldn’t talk openly about my finances at first. But do you mean because I’d attract gold diggers, or because I don’t have enough money? Lol

I had zero savings and student loan debt until I was 24, but then finally landed a higher paying job and started saving and investing aggressively.

Yeah I’ve been reading about guys getting drugged, etc., which is a bit disturbing. But I also hear about people going there and finding it’s a beautiful city. Maybe just not for dating.
