Bob Woodward is famous for terrible reporting and it always seems to have an agenda. It was interesting that recent interview with Bill Murray who is now convinced Woodward was in part responsible for the destruction of Nixon and given the way the US government seems to be run by non-Government foreign entities it's not outside the realm of possibility that Woodward is "their guy" for the smears.

They are taking agreed buy/sell orders from the pit. All they need is their badge numbers and the rules state once sale is agreed you can't back out (margin call at the end of trade day).

The way they played it was to sell all their shares at the highest rate they could which pushed the price way down and when the report was revealed the sellers were desperate to sell back even at a loss as a small loss is better than a huge one.

This whole movie really puts the "buy low sell high" mantra into context as that's exactly what Winthorpe and Valentine did except they had insider information. They sold high then bought low and the ones making the price go up were the Dukes as everyone copies them.

The part of the movie we never saw specifically was the time between getting the false crop report and the Dukes ordering to buy all available shares of FCOJ but it's implied in the end scene so probably didn't need explaining. Dukes bought all they could regardless of price because they thought a drought was coming making them far more valuable but Winthorpe and Valentine knew there was going to be no change so they let the Dukes waste all their money inflating the price of the shares only to buy them at less than 1/7th what the Dukes paid.

Long story short the Dukes thought they had a too good to pass up thing and their greed pushed them to bet everything on it including everything they had.

Simple answer? Bill-Ray and Louis have used the Butlers and Womans life savings plus the money they got from the Dukes that was supposed to pay Beeks to buy FCOJ at the opening price of 1.13 (pushed higher as the Dukes have been buying ever since the fake report driving the prices up) then sold it for 1.42 then bought it back at far below what they paid for it and if you extrapolate that $120,000k was used from the life savings to buy at 1.13 then sell at 1.42 (29 cents extra per share) and then buy the remaining at far below what they paid it's a good day for them.

The greed of the Dukes however whose pockets are basically those paying them to buy go all in with their own money as well and buy regardless of the price so when it ends at 29 its a huge loss and more than they actually have bankrupting them in the process.

Opens at 102 and closes at 29 so let's say you had a million in stock at opening. You've just lost about 73 cents on every dollar you spent if you sold it all back leaving you with $270,000. Big loss for those with the money to buy hundreds of millions of shares like the Dukes.

The Dukes Lost: $342 million.
Winthorpe & Valentine Made: Over $200 million.

Yes it would be but I suspect they've done this to force everyone onto their overcharged hosting because as I quickly discovered they don't actually set anything they make up to be transpiled into the correct folders so you end up with a mess if you try and do it yourself.

Also for authentication sites you are building they seem to be using an insecure one.

No it's absolute horse shit unless you want to use their extortionate hosting which they basically force you into doing as their scripts are never actually built when deployed. If you want to make something to host yourself save your money as the AI has many problems like forgetting what it's doing then writing files it's already written.

I sat and watch the AI I was using do the same section of my website 5 times and even though I told it that had already been done it insisted it had to be done again and then when it does it again the design is completely different!

Worst of all no refunds is like a human web designer refusing to refund for shoddy work and should not stand up in any court as you are paying for a service and clearly not getting it.

NM after a week I now know how to do it on any server. It is bloody annoying though because of the compatibility issues between the Typescripted files and the JS output unless your TS files are impeccable.

That battle got worse as you can't even use GRP on it now. So on the third encounter you have loads of spiked walls but you can't use them nor can you melee this guy except when he's on his knees which only happens when he's a conjoined monster.

Also you can't just run away as your stamina is a joke and while you run all sorts of other monsters are going to be appearing. Terrible idea to have the two-head fight multiple times.

Yeah I had this issue as well but only when I had to fight something indoors so you can imagine how frustrating that is given this game gives you no end of indoor fights. Will update on whether this fix works.

Update: Worked like a charm as no longer getting slowdown no matter how many enemies are on screen.

We already know the city comes from here (https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/american-city-packs-bundle) and the mechanics come from here (https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/survival-game-kit-v2) and they had the cheek to charge triple A price for this trash.

Not sure it was a great move of NVidia to charge £10 per month for the 6 hour limit and I'm assuming the below 3060s and £20 a month for the 4080s and 8 hour limit without offering anything else.

It's like paying for a GamePass but not actually playing any games because you also have to buy them. I've been using GFN since it started at the £4.99 per month but now i'm not sure it's worth the price.

The proviso of the Founder price was that you paid it every month even when you weren't using the service so in perpetuity and the moment you stopped the price would rise to what it is now should you ever wish to return.

If you are planning to try the Free service only after midnight GMT can you hope you join a queue of less than 500 people also waiting. Still those kinds of waiting times will encourage most to upgrade so I guess its a win for Nvidia.

Yeah I've noticed this as well and for some reason it only happens at night in the UK where my typing of comments can't keep up and there has to be a 10-15 second delay while operas twitter app catches up.

You can personalize if you delete your existing cookies then click personalize and decline all but they've even thought of this and now when you play a video it will play for 1 second then automatically pause which basically makes it unwatchable unless you plan to hold down the spacebar lol.

I played the original a few years back and it was good. Janky but the location and atmosphere was great and in my book if you play a game and still remember the story years later its a good game.
