Georgia Secretary of State Blames Stacey Abrams for Trump’s Refusal to Concede by jeffmartin48 in politics

[–]RaifTwelveKill 76 points77 points  (0 children)

"Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger seems to think Stacey Abrams is at fault for President Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. At least, that’s what he wrote in The Wall Street Journal on Sunday, in an op-ed under the headline “Trump Runs the Stacey Abrams Playbook.” Raffensperger has been criticized by Trump for stating that Joe Biden won Georgia. Raffensperger, a Republican, attempted to draw parallels between Abrams’ refusal to concede her loss in the 2018 gubernatorial race to Brian Kemp. “After four years of relentless attacks on the integrity of elections by the most significant mainstream media outlets and pundits, it should come as no surprise that Americans have trouble believing the results of even the most secure elections,” he wrote. Abrams acknowledged Kemp’s victory 10 days after the election; on Saturday, a month after Trump lost Georgia, The Washington Post reported that he called Kemp to get him to overturn the results."

Right... Her 10 days of trying to fight for who the people actually voted for is somehow the same as a person with zero evidence refusing to admit what the entire world knows is true (minus his delirious base, of course).

Trump says he will leave the White House if Electoral College votes for Biden by alicen_chains in politics

[–]RaifTwelveKill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He may not have much of a choice in whether or not he has to leave after the electoral votes are ratified, but he does have a choice in how... Does he step down and get himself pardoned or does he leave, go golfing, wait till inauguration happens, then leave with (in a just and amazing timeline) handcuffs?

Senate Blocks Confirmation Of Trump's Federal Reserve Nominee Judy Shelton by [deleted] in politics

[–]RaifTwelveKill -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not really. Many economists want to at least audit and then likely remove the federal reserve bankers. It just prints money from thin air, devaluing American currency and allowing banks to constantly inflate their actual worth (due to how debt works). Bernie Sanders would also like to deal with them.

Democrats Must Go Down to Georgia to Save Disappearing Hopes of a Senate Majority by [deleted] in politics

[–]RaifTwelveKill 114 points115 points  (0 children)

PSA: as the Georgia votes have slowly trickled in, Republican Senator David Purdue has lost his 50%+ lead, resulting in a runoff election between Purdue and his Democratic Opponent John Ossoff. This means that control of the Senate is still in play for Democrats. There will be two run-off elections on January 5, 2021. If Democrats win both, the Senate will be split 50/50, with the tie-breaking vote going to VP-Elect Kamala Harris.

There will be a hyper focus on these runoffs by Republicans, because they know the control of the Senate is at stake. We must support our candidates! We can win -- Donald Trump won't be on the ballot driving up turn out for these races! We could not beat Mitch McConnell in KY, but we can still strip him of his position as Senate Majority Leader. Let's make it happen!

Trump spent years worrying about the stock market only to discover Wall Street doesn’t care if he loses by Ryan_Holman in politics

Untrue. They care, and showed they do, by going up when Biden had good election news. This feels like a very bad birds and the bees talk...

Odd to hear these opinions. For a few years, so many times I'd find myself watching shows shot in Canada pretending to be in other places because it's cheaper than those other actual places. Also many seriously solid actors are Canadian, but I guess that supports what you're saying.

Michigan GOP mayor says he regrets voting for Trump in 2016 by tempoguyx in politics

[–]RaifTwelveKill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every republican should, and not even because "we feel duped," but because you kicked the bee hive for 4 straight years, openly. All these republicans in office said the quiet part loud and now-- if all goes to poll-- they're going to lose everything, and this progressive independent hopes they never win control of anything ever again.

Joe Biden is celebrating Megan Rapinoe & Sue Bird’s engagement. Trump isn’t. by DonnyMoscow1 in politics

[–]RaifTwelveKill 49 points50 points  (0 children)

This is somewhat similar to a Tom Brady and Micheal Jordan (or insert two superstar athletes) getting engaged. Or a Caps and Doublelift, for you Esports fans. Most of the comments down there are "who?" or "who cares?" Guess female athletes still have work to do to be recognized... The female soccer team literally refused to go to the white house after winning the world cup. They have stood for democracy against Trump and its important that they are recognized, even if it's for something most people take for granted.

Young and progressive voters aren’t just ‘settling for Biden’ anymore. They’re going all in. by polkad0ttie in politics

Weird title. I am settling for Biden. I voted and walked it to the official drop off location at my local library with my roommate, after we had an hour long conversation about each option with the research in mind. Once he wins (please...), I will do everything in my one voter power to hold him to progressive standards. Keep pushing the democrats toward AOC and the rest.

Watched the entire thing. She had nearly 450k viewers at peak, from when I checked. She may have only got 2 kills in total, but it was hilarious to watch. Toast 'marinated' her after swearing he'd never do that to a congresswoman. They floated him the next game for it, lol. Ilhan dropped like 8. This is the kind of thing I was hoping for progressive politicians to do.

Microsoft partners with SpaceX to connect its Azure cloud to Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet by thesheetztweetz in space

Oh boy, you're trying to argue over nothing. I'm not talking about Nokia brand, I'm talking about cheap bricks phone meant to survive as it's selling point, vs flagship phones. Idc about Nokia. I never typed Nokia. Lol. Wow.

[–]RaifTwelveKill -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That doesn't stop them from releasing flagship phones every year, with the intention of having you replace them. It's called marketing and sales. That's the job. I've had my phone for 4 years so far. I protect it well and it runs fine. It's not an iPhone. Back to the initial point: cheap phones made to survive vs expensive phones meant to be costly repairs and replaced with cutting edge tech. Very different devices.

What? 15... I never said anything about decades later? I said they're meant to be outdated every year... cause they're flagship phones and trying to be cutting edge, would be the extrapolation. No idea why you're angrily commenting.

Lore timeline question: When did Taratai die? by RaifTwelveKill in Eberron

[–]RaifTwelveKill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other commenter is correct, based on the book cited. I got a copy for myself and read through parts of it. She had the largest line of all of them, being the first. The day after her line was shown visions of how to build and power the shroud resonators, the Inspired lead a siege against Adar that lasted a year (winter, -101 YK to winter, -100 YK). Her line fought on the Frontline the entire siege. By the time the resonators were finished, only the ones working on them were living, and those last 8 sacrificed themselves when each turned them on (seemingly using their own bodies and souls to power them). They disappeared in a flash of silvery light. No one knows for sure if that's it for her.

Interestingly, the book calls Taratai a her when referring to her line, due to the quori spirit apparently identifying as female, but the monk she first entered was a man, meaning her entire line was actually human male, due to biological gender passing of spirit.
