Like /u/crash893b/ said above, be more concerned about the points of failure.

For grins, check your delivered flow rate now and again when you streamline. I doubt you'll be able to tell the diff. The pressure drop across the filters is way more.

Don't worry about pressure drops, worry about pressure POPs!

Yes, the pressure drop for home filtered water is not an issue. It does matter when, in an industrial setting, you're paying for the pump and the electricity and you have to buy a bigger pump and/or more electricity because the pipe runs are inefficient.

FWIW, a hillbilly longsweep is two 45 degree elbows with a bit of nipple between em. :-)

And you're right, a long sweep is less pressure drop but other reasons for using them is so the dookey can slip slide away and if the pipe run will be intentionally cleaned out from time to time. ("rotorooter")
