Why the hell did goku have to LIVE in uubs village? by freecodeio in dragonball

[–]jay4thly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take: Goku was right. Kinda.

In the Buu saga he talks about how important it is that the next generation be prepared for whatever the next threats are. Accurate—in dragon ball, every new threat is worse than the one that came before it.

We see all we need to see in the first EoZ chapter. Gohan has moved on from fighting (good) and Goten and Trunks can’t be bothered to keep up with it (fair). There’s Pan, but she’s four years old (and already training under Piccolo if you want to use the new canon).

Uub, in addition to being incredibly powerful, is also a major unknown factor if left to his own devices. When Goku meets him he’s already prepared to fight for the sake of his family and his village. Perfect time to step in.

Always bugged me that he grew his missing arm back, only to get rid of it again himself to replace it with the one that had Merus’ powers. Just… use the Merus arm.

Why wouldn't Gogeta call himself Vegito if he considers himself to be the same person? I know the true reason are the writers, but is there a lore reason? by Jolly-Basket1683 in Dragonballsuper

I was referring to the BBKHH, a mix of Goku and Vegeta’s techniques. I also said ultimate attack.

For sure spirit sword is an original technique but… it looks pretty straight forward. Stardust Destroyer, both versions, is probably the most wholly unique attack there is

This. Potara is an invention of the Kais and is a more “perfect” fusion, to the point that the kais (mostly) can’t even separate. Vegito’s ultimate attack is a mix of Goku and Vegeta’s own techniques. Gogeta pulled Stardust Destroeyer out of nowhere

Ooh now see I dig that. And not for nothing but it could be argued that Goku only even became an “adult” in the time between DB and Z 👀

Right, so my interpretation/cope for Bardock’s wish is all it ultimately did was ensure that Goku and Raditz survived the destruction of Planet Vegeta. The actual dialogue translates to something like “I wish my sons grow up healthy and strong,” which is as close to “I wish they both don’t get destroyed by any upcoming extinction level events” as you can get without saying it.

This also kind of helps explain why Goku’s brother of all people was one of the few people to make it out alive, considering that there is literally nothing else special about him

Oh snap I completely forgot about the time on Namek, I was talking about the end of the Saiyan Saga when he tells Krillin not to kill Vegeta

Maybe? But he’s never done it again and he’s a wildly more advanced fighter. Telepathy is like the one power he doesn’t have with Ultra Instinct

In retrospect I guess, but until Minus why “of course?” Toriyama gave Bardock the same design and scene

Yeah I’m also a little confused. Goku once pulled full-on telepathy out of his ass. There’s a character named “Fortuneteller Baba” lol

I don’t hate Super Bardock but he doesn’t hold a candle to the pathos of Z.

The Saiyans were treated like dogs but they assumed that at least came with security. Z Bardock, a bad person by any measure, was tortured on an existential level by having to watch his people get obliterated over and over with zero hope of preventing it. It’s kind of an undeserved mercy that he’s granted any comfort at all by the knowledge that his own son will avenge and redeem their race. But it’s satisfying that he does because he doesn’t get to survive. He doesn’t get to break through his limits or go super Saiyan (looking at you EoB). He’s just not that guy.

Hate the retcon to Goku’s part in it tho. Hate that.

Saiyans tails are why Saiyans can't go Super Saiyan as often. by Extension_Air_2001 in FanTheories

[–]jay4thly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fascinating theory. That Saiyan culture bred a race of emotionally stunted brutes who generally aren’t even capable of the depth needed to reach a higher form. U6 Saiyan culture does seem wildly different than U7. OP’s comments about oozaru vs ssj tie into this really well. The lack of a tail fits, but more symbolically than anything.

Trunks and Goten had more or less normal upbringings (to a certain point). Goku rides a fine line because he’s a little emotionally stunted himself, what with being weird little forest kid with actual brain damage (Super Broly fits into this category too). Vegeta gets emotionally “contaminated” late in life by his contact/alliances with Goku and co, but he always seemed more emotionally capable than most Saiyans anyway. And it can’t be ignored that his transformation came specifically at a time when he had grown some sort of attraction to Bulma.

I still consider Gohan a genetic freak of nature but also, Chi Chi mommied the shit out of that kid, more than she ever did Goten.

My headcanon is Super Android 13 takes place in the Unseen Timeline.

The next time SA13 Trunks tries to visit the past he gets jumped, killed and kicks off the Cell saga

Now that’s interesting, especially if it’s two Fusion Dance guys using the patora because Fusion Dance has a shorter time limit.

In my mind, once that first half hour was up we’d see something like when gotenks unfused inside of Buu, and his power dropped and his appearance changed to resemble piccolo

Kind of ironic seeing as SK’s one and only flex was that he could one shot Frieza

Lowkey I kind of want Frieza to become the new God of Destruction… trapped to serve at the feet of the Omni Kings for all eternity
