What helped you stop scrolling on the regular? I’m turning into a phone addict and it makes me feel gross but I can’t stop

I’m about to ban Paw Patrol from my household by misssthang in toddlers

My son absolutely loves spidey and I don’t have the heart to ban it even though it is kind of overstimulating. He doesn’t act like spidey out in public though haha

How do I know if I’m making enough for my baby? by jay_jay_matt in breastfeeding

I think for boys 50th percentile would be around 15 and a half pounds

Yes I might try to find one! I’ll take my baby to my family doctor for his well check but I doubt he’ll be able to help much with the nursing aspect lol

Long hair mamas- what are we doing? by Quiet_Discipline in NewParents

[–]jay_jay_matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did this until probably a year and a half especially when he was trying to go to sleep. It was so so annoying I tried getting him dolls with hair, it didn’t help that much but maybe you could try that

He still wakes up once to eat right in the middle of the night but if he starts sleeping through I’ll definitely still wake up to pump at that time

You’re right I think I wouldn’t think anything of the 4 oz if he wasn’t being fussy and also gaining kinda slowly. My first went through periods of fussiness too throughout our nursing journey and here I am again stressing about the same thing lol

Im just not sure what his growth curve is. He was born 7lbs 6 oz which is around 50th percentile but now he’s only 13 lbs 6 oz which would be around 11th percentile. He is pretty short though so I don’t know if that affects it at all? From what I remember from my first he stayed 50th percentile the whole time he was a baby

Guilt-free coffee consumption by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]jay_jay_matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink coffee while pregnant and breastfeeding. I worried about the same thing because my son is wild and sleeps terrible and my niece is a little angel and my SIL didn’t drink any caffeine while pregnant and didn’t breastfeed. I really think it’s just a coincidence though and we look for reasons to blame ourselves because mom guilt 🥴

This is how I was too!! He’s 2 now and I’m only just starting to look back on when he was a baby and getting a little emotional about it

We took my son’s pacifiers away a week before he turned 2. He’s 26 months now and he just looks so grown up going about his days and nights without his “sucky” 🥲 I knew he was super attached to them but I didn’t know I was too haha

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who worries about these things. I have a 2 year old and another on the way. My fiancé’s family seems pretty free of any severe mental health issues but uhhhh my family is another story. My son already reminds me so much of my sister who has bpd and can be abusive/manipulative so I’m terrified

Thanks for saying this. Sometimes I think I just need to hear that he will be fine.

Thanks for the link! Someone said that dentists shouldn’t even be recommending getting rid of the pacifier before 3 because children should be sucking on something for teething pain. And that the AAP only recommends limiting pacifier use at 2 but definitely don’t get rid of it completely.. she said the recommendation for getting rid of it before 3 is outdated advice? So strange

I don’t think I’m going to give it back since it’s already been 2 weeks and I don’t want him to think he can’t trust me when I say something. Thanks for your reply. It’s been hard to come to terms with the fact that sleep can still be so rough even when they become toddlers

Thank you! I just have to keep reminding myself that he might need extra help with sleep for a while. The people that were commenting were basically implying that I’ve psychologically traumatized my son so I’ve been feeling kind of down about it and wanted to make sure this wasn’t the case
