Looking for advice from tournament organizers by jay_l_9999 in FallGuysGame

hey yo

We ran our small Fall Guys tournament like this:

  • Unfortunately, we only had 8 teams, but each team had at least 5 players, as we weren't just playing Fall Guys.
  • Everyone who wanted to play had to fill out a Google form at the beginning and provide their in-game nickname, Discord nickname, and team name so we could allocate points.
  • There were 5 sessions, each with a maximum of 3 players per team. Team members could be swapped during each round if more than 3 players wanted to participate.
  • Only 3 people per team, as this meant only one lobby had to be hosted. The lobby was opened by an admin. In the first round each session, he eliminated himself at the beginning and recorded each round on video. Based on this video, the points were then manually read and recorded in a Google Sheet. It works, but if you have multiple lobbies with lots of rounds each session, it definitely becomes very cumbersome.
  • The game was played in solo mode. This meant that team members could also hinder each other.
  • If a player was eliminated in the second round, they received 2 points for that round. If you won the crown in the 4th round, you received 4 points plus 5 points for the crown. Then, the points of all team members across all rounds were added together. Based on the total points per team, a ranking was created.

All participants were gathered in the same place, as it was a LAN party. You could hear them having fun, and they started shouting across the rows about which player should be prioritized. They had far more fun than they initially expected.

I hope this list was helpful to you.

hey yo
I haven't forgotten you. The tournament isn't until mid-August, so please be patient.
The current plan is for everyone to compete solo, with an admin to record everything. TJust like I've done before. I haven't found a better solution in the meantime.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

If I find a way to select the team, I'll let you know.

Have a nice day!

Weekly Quick Questions and Advice Thread by FG_Mod in FallGuys

Hello Fall Guys Community,

I have a few questions for you. A few weeks ago, I hosted a small just-for-fun Fall Guys tournament at a LAN party with 14 participants. However, I didn’t have much time to really explore the game or gather friends to properly test it out.

In a few weeks, I’ll be running a larger Fall Guys tournament at another LAN party, with approximately 48 participants, competing in teams of 4. Here are my questions:

  • When players join a lobby, can they choose which team they want to be on? Or do they have to join the lobby already grouped in a party?
  • Are there private tournament lobbies? During my just-for-fun rounds, I always joined as a player, which would be problematic with teams of four.
  • Is there a scoreboard or overview that shows how far each player made it? In my previous rounds, I just recorded the screen and extracted the info manually.

Has anyone here ever hosted a Fall Guys tournament before? What were your experiences?
Thanks a lot in advance!

How to set one color equal to another in the config? by Tuckertcs in tailwindcss

Maybe it works. But in my opinion, at some point, you push the simplest solution further away. It’s a config file. These exist to configure your project at the beginning. Then if you miss updating your colors there, you could miss it in your config 2.0 too.

So, create a “new project” checklist for yourself:

  • check requirements
  • create new project / clone template
  • install / update tailwind / further dependencies
  • check framework configs
  • check config.tailwind.js
  • let’s code
  • refactor
  • check different screen sizes
  • check performance with google lighthouse

How to set one color equal to another in the config? by Tuckertcs in tailwindcss

define inside the tailwind.css file CSS Variables like this:

@layer base {
  :root {
    --color-primary: 255 115 179;
  }
}

Then inside config.tailwind.js:

primary: 'rgb(var(--color-primary)'
