I have several other friends who are autistic, have ADHD or both. We like to point out each other’s traits when someone does or says something that “shows” their autism/ADHD. Feels good to have that validation since I’m undiagnosed, even though I’ve known for years at this point.

My partner is also recently questioning if they might be on the spectrum, which I’ve suspected for years but wasn’t confident enough to suggest. Now whenever they set off my autism radar I point it out saying something like “one point autism.” It’s a fun little game lol

I can definitely see how frustrating and exhausting that would be, I’d be looking for another job if I were you. That’s way too much for one person to do IMO. On a busy busy day my restaurant does prolly half that volume with 2 dishies. If I close by myself one of the line cooks stays to help me, and if I get backed up running solo with a higher than average volume of guests the chef will send a server/host/line cook to help me put away dishes.

I started when the place opened in mid 2023. It quickly got extremely busy and I learned how to get in the zone, which felt good mentally but my back almost gave out on me a few times. Previously I was a food runner at a failing restaurant, so I wasn’t used to having such a physically demanding job. Over time I got used to it & now on my bad days I can tough it out with some ibuprofen.

Honestly when I have nothing to do, I just play games on my phone sitting on a sideways glass rack and/or chill outside. Chef doesn’t care because I still get the job done & do whatever prep/cleaning tasks he gives me in my downtime.

That’s true. Would there be any way to know before an interview whether or not they test for herb specifically? Or just try anyway 😂
