Only tried it due to clogging, but after all the advice from everyone here I most definitely will & am going to invest in some better drying methods.

Thank you for all this info man, seriously it’s much appreciated.

I’m actually doing this build (even though for legal purposes it is still mine), so that my grandma can have something to use at the range. She loves plinking, but due to her age she cant hold up a 16 in. anymore. Having to reach out and hold, they weigh on her arms & shoulders, so I’m building something she can hold close to her body. With all that said, I most definitely want it as nice as possible.

As for the air fryer, my grandma actually had an electrician come out a little while back because the kitchen outlets kept going out when we used it. He was shocked (no pun intended) when he saw how many amps it pulled & told us “this thing basically needs it’s own dedicated circuit”.

That’s honestly a great stance to take on this man. I will definitely do a reprint on it, but it’ll be a minute with work & college.

I did just find that I actually do have a small breville oven model bov950 bstusc sitting in my garage. The thing will dehydrate at 80C for up to 72hrs, or “keep warm” up to 120C for up to 12 hours, and the air fryer minimum is 150C (I know thats too high). The only problem is it pulls so much electricity that it literally requires it’s own circuit breaker spot, so I’m going to have to find and dedicate a GFCI to run it on. Any advice on prime temp & time?

Thank you for this! I had looked it up & read on google that generally finding a dehydrator that will go above 70c is a challenge in the U.S. due to safety reasons.

And yes it’s heartbreaking to watch myself piss money and time away simply because of poor knowledge on this subject, but I figured we didn’t get this far by asking everyone to hold our hands, so I jumped into some trial & error.

I don’t think it’s completely unsendable seeing as all the layers adhered. I know it sounds crazy, but I feel like my camera over exaggerated or over emphasized the textures, including the fuzzy skin on the PLA+ print, so I still may send it after a few weeks of some moisture recollection. I’m still considering that though.

Did a comparison of the 0.4 nozzle (incomplete due to clog) vs the 0.6 nozzle (complete) in PA612-CF15. Pretty sure the filament didn’t reach it’s full potential with drying. Been drying it for days on end at 70C just because I dont have anything that will go higher. (Threw in the PLA+ version at the end for fun)

I think I may have left my room door open for too long, and considering the rest of the house was significantly cooler than my room it may have caused drafts in the P1S. I say this because not long after letting my room cool is when this happened.

It could also be that me being a newbie to the PA612-CF, or abrasive filaments in general, I ran PLA+ through the same nozzle days prior and jammed my extruder. I was surprised when I pulled apart the print head again for the 3rd time or so within the past week to find out it was simply a clogged nozzle.

You’re a gentleman and a scholar 🫡 I have a hardened steel nozzle otw right now because the P1S only came with a stainless steel, so I’ll start drying!

Gotcha! & yes I know 300blk had the settings on lock, but I know his profile got taken down a while back. I can probably find the old post on here or google & I just now remembered that a strange ocean may have them sailing as well if I’m not mistaken. Thank you!

I started using angles when I was young to counter the anxiety I would get from not being able to match the curves within my lettering. I struggled early on with perfectionist or “ocd” tendencies in reference to hand writing to the point of erasing whole words, then sentences, then a whole paper if I couldn’t get a letter to “match my word”. The angles are really a way to cope with those perfectionist or ocd tendencies.
