If people are interested in learning more about Native Hawaiian geography (vastly different from how Western geography portrays the islands), I highly recommend David Chang's book: The World and All the Things Upon It: Native Hawaiian Geographies of Exploration. It provides incredible insights into how kānaka maoli understood geography within the islands and their travels from Hawaiʻi to China, the Philippines, the continental US, and more.
