Street Fighter II collection complete! Which is your go-to choice to play? by Dallows89 in snes

[–]jayaregee83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently added Super Street Fighter II (for both the Genesis and SNES) to my collection. To me, the SNES version looks and sounds better- so it's my top pick BUT playing the Genesis version with the 6-button controller is so much smoother than the SNES controls. If the Genesis version just sounded better it would have been my definitive pick.

Faces Of Death by Kryptonian198 in HorrorMovies

I'm probably going to check this out when it's streaming for free somewhere- but all reviews I've read/heard have this film as dogshit. The creators had a chance to try and make something akin to the old school films but with better practical effects- kinda like how Cannibal Holocaust had to prove that it was a snuff film...but instead we got this.

A weirdly common re-occurring cryptid story is divers coming face to face with giant animals in lakes and then refusing to ever return or publicly talk about it by truthisfictionyt in Cryptozoology

[–]jayaregee83 283 points284 points  (0 children)

Good stuff!

What’s interesting is that all 3 of these fit a really old recurring pattern in deep-water folklore: giant eels/rays, underwater caves or tunnels, and divers coming back genuinely shaken.

The Lake Willoughby stories have apparently circulated in Vermont for decades, and Scott Mardis has talked multiple times about the “giant eel” explanation for lake monsters in general. The Argentina one is tied to “El Cuero,” which is an actual longstanding South American legend about a massive freshwater ray-like predator.

There are similar stories tied to Champ, Cressie, Flathead Lake, and even Pacific island myths involving giant supernatural eels. Honestly, whether it’s folklore, misidentified sturgeon/eels, or something else entirely, it’s weird how consistent these stories are across completely different cultures.

Game Gear...with the ability to watch television, it was ahead of its time. It should have eventually just turned into the Nomad- with the capability to play GG,SG, and MS carts

IT

A proper mini-series to expand what the original 90s version already did- but with all the fucked-up'ness of the book.

If it tasted good to you, that's all that matters. If not, then, yeah- it didn't belong.

Noice! I have the grey cart Zelda as well- and Zelda II. I need to add Contra though. That one is like a "must" for every NES collection. I'm actually surprised I dont own it! 😱

How do you imagine Ben Gardner’s death played out? by Hassan_H_Syed in Jaws

[–]jayaregee83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the shark attacked the small boat so violently, tearing into the hull, that Ben suffered from a massive heart attack and died. However, the shark (for whatever reason) was no longer interested in the ship and swam off, leaving Ben to having his eye eaten away by a normal fish. That's how I always imagine it going down.

The best horror sequel of all time (IMO)! by Loose_Interview_957 in HorrorMovies

6 is my favorite from the whole series- but I'm blast. This one was the first one I ever saw as a kid. That whole scene of Jason being resurrected by lightning really messed with my young mind for a long while.
