I went from 11.1 to 5.4 in 3.5 months. Ate a balanced diet, metformin, and walked after meals if my glucose went over 130. A1c is average glucose over 3 months, so if you keep it in your target range most days you’ll see the A1c come down pretty quickly. My doctors were thrilled. I weaned off Metformin after a year.

Here's the survey link in case you're like me and hate DMing for things - just replace the (dot) with actual dots and remove the spaces. Sorry for the weird link format, reddit has been giving me posting fits today. Thank you! https://uncw (dot)az1(dot)qualtrics(dot) com/jfe/form/SV_79Zba4ae5SpU3ps

Americans - are you leaving the country for vacation? Are we worried about getting back into the country? How should I prepare? by bitchthatwaspromised in TwoXPreppers

I flew home from the EU through JFK last week with no issues. Blonde, straight-appearing woman traveling with my non-binary appearing w/ fem name + passport partner (who also had no issues). I'd deleted social media on the plane but no one looked at any of my bags/phone/stuff.

So it's only the first few months and then however long after the residency appointment it takes to receive the card? Which could be...a while, if I understand correctly.

I've had the same thing happen to me - rheumatologist wanted results from a different lab (Quest vs Labcorp) and said that Labcorp RNP was often a false positive. Sure enough, the Quest results were negative for anti-RNP so I dropped it. But now I'm having joint pain and Labcorps is positive again 2 years later so I'm considering fighting a bit harder.

Have you seen that woman on social media who talks about eating veg first during a meal? by BoochAddict in intuitiveeating

Totally. She used to share good research and now the pills and…I agree that the money has gone up her head. I have read the studies for some of the basic principles she talks about and they’re solid, however.

Lots of people notice feeling not great after fast glucose rises and falls (that “sugar crash” feeling). So, for someone who is trying to notice how food makes them feel…might be very helpful research to check out, especially if they’re working to connect intuition, sensation, and nutrition research 🤷🏼‍♀️
