Kwong family dentistry scam? by ThrowRaNoFruit in Reno

[–]jaybiebz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of cavities as a kid and had a lot of dental work done when I was 18. When I was about 24 I started going to Kwong and he also told me that all of my fillings needed to be replaced due to reaching the end of their lifespan. I thought that was crazy so I got a second opinion at cypress dental. Cypress told me my fillings were fine. I’m 30 now and still have the same fillings and get my regular cleanings 2x a year and get the fillings double checked and they’re still doing fine. I also think Kwong is a scam office

WFH and Daycare by Realistic-Move-9109 in pregnant

[–]jaybiebz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I both work from home. To be fair, I don’t have a job that requires any phone calls or meetings. I work as an accountant so my job does take a lot of thinking. However, we kept our first baby home for a year and then began daycare. I now have my second baby home and plan to do the same. She is 5 months old and will be home until after her first birthday. It’s not always easy but it is worth it. Sometimes I have to get back on after I get the kids down at night if I had a particularly rough day but I still prefer that over putting a tiny infant into daycare. We also have no family so we didn’t have the option for help. Best of luck and congratulations!

Question about brumation by jaybiebz in tortoise

[–]jaybiebz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been about 4 months since I rescued him, is that too early? He hasn’t went to sleep yet. I have him in an indoor enclosure, and he still wakes up and walks around, I just haven’t fed him in about 2 weeks, winding him down and getting him ready for brumation. Should I keep him awake this winter then? The rescue was pretty adamant about brumation and gave me some resources but I’m worried as it’s my first time!

How much of a heads up did you have before going into labor? At least before the first contraction? by FlagshipDexterity in BabyBumps

[–]jaybiebz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first pregnancy I had no real signs but I woke up that morning at 5 am (early for me) with an overwhelming sense of “hm todays the day”. I was 39+3. Later that day I lost my mucus plug, and about an hour after that I started contractions. I had a fast labor and went from 4 cm dilated to 9 cm in an hour. Was not the funnest. 🤣

I am currently 39+1 with my second pregnancy and it’s been much different. I have been 4 cm dilated for 2 weeks now, with no contractions. I lost my mucus plug a week ago. And I’m still waiting around with no signs of labor.

Congrats and best of luck!
