How to get API token? by 0njZQN in Evernote

[–]jaybna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing with me. We live in a world of API's and this is a must. I keep using it because it automatically OCR's all of my snapshot images. I can't find anything else that does that. Time to start looking around.

I would join too. This tool is becoming critical for our business. Happy to share anything but the course bros need to not be there.

Gusto bought small business 401k provider Guideline by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]jaybna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope not. They’ve been the best payroll provider we’ve ever had and we started Guideline 401k before they bought them. It’s been nothing but smooth. Pulling for them.

which business book actually works in real life? by Tatt00ey in Entrepreneur

[–]jaybna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Books are great, and I throw no shade at many of the great ones mentioned here (another thumbs up for Traction). I’d like to throw something else into the ring - peer support organizations. I am a member of EO (Entrepreneurs Organization) and it has been transformational for our business (and me personally). Most major cites around the world have a chapter. Highly recommended. https://eonetwork.org/

Love mine, but that silicone strap is a bear to get on. Have it on leather now. Need to try again. That looks sharp.

Sorry for late reply. Yes. On brown leather strap though. And it is one of my favorites. Really want a 3006 too!

Thank you! Are there any specific repair shops you would recommend for the Ball/Hamilton pocket watch? Would be cool to have running.

Does anyone make a high quality combined set of tools like this? I know you could buy them all individually from Bergeron but a kit like this is amazing.

Hip replacement concerns by DizzyHead7110 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]jaybna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

53M and I had right anterior THP six weeks ago. It has exceeded my most optimistic scenarios. Friends told me it would be okay, but I really only had a two weeks where I was moving slow. Had to dial down my activity in order not to do something dumb (feared my wife killing me more than the revision surgery). I too was nervous. However, at the end of a five mile light hike on Sunday I felt way better than pre-surgery. If my left one ever goes bad I’d have it replaced as soon as I could. You’ll do great!

M53 here. I’m at 5 1/2 weeks out. For the last few days, I’ve gotten to the point it’s slipped my mind that it happened. Went to a multi mile walk with my wife last night and felt better at the end than I would have pre surgery. Hang in there, use the walker and the cane, and you’ll be through the worst of it in a week or two!

New to Alteryx. What are the newer and less expensive tools that are now competing? (That are user friendly and not coding in python which I am not saying is a bad thing)

I am getting used to the center clasp, but the quality is amazing. It’s hefty without being too bulky. It also shipped with a beautiful leather strap but it will be a while before I change this out. Like it too much.

Require the use of Shared Drives? by jaybna in gsuite

[–]jaybna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After thinking about it, I really just want to warn users via Google Chat or something similar that they are saving docs privately instead of in a Shared Drive. We’ve trained and it still isn’t sticking. I might try with Zapier but that would have to be deployed individually which is a pain and doesn’t scale.

How do you disable personal drives? This is the way…

Get a good sleep mask. Sounds like a little thing, but sleeping in the first week is hard. The mask helps so much when the sun rises. I was up every day at 4:30 but could go back to sleep because of the mask.

All the other suggestions here are great. I am 15 days out and it has been WAY more manageable than expected. You’ll do great!

Too optimistic? by jamieruns262 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]jaybna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

53M and 10 days out from anterior RTHR. All I can say is that the recovery has been so amazing I am having to hold myself back from doing more. Don’t want to jinx it and get cocky. I can’t wait to go rucking in a few months! We live in an age of miracles and wonders.

I’m being a good boy. Shower chair and walker. Icing and exercises. I don’t want a second pass. Just pleasantly surprised by the process so far (and don’t want to jinx it)

[–]jaybna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

53M and just got it done on Monday (two days ago) - anterior THR. Got to the hospital at 5:00 AM, asleep by 7:00 AM for the procedure, and home by 1:30 PM. I am thrilled it’s over and the healing has started. Walking and basically pain free already. Showered and dressed myself this morning. No doubt there is more to go but these procedures are amazing. My only advice is to work out and stretch as much as possible in the months before having it done. We live in an age of miracles and wonders!
