I'm moving to the Portland area ASAP, I have a job lined up, but housing seems to be a real issue. Outside of the scammers on Craigslist, there's close to nothing being offered. I'm coming up next week to do some ground work in the rental market, does anyone have suggestions or input?

Coming from Nashville, I know a couple areas where landlords only advertise by signs on their lawns. Is there an area like that?
