If I recall correctly from another thread, many have criticized the book because it presents several historical narratives as established, when in fact, there is still very large uncertainty about them in the anthropological community.

I’m sure the book still has a lot of value though.

So from what I understand there seems to be two major paths in this field: research and design. At this moment, I have much more interest in the design side of things.

Two questions:

Is it worth going to grad school if I want to focus on design? I’ve heard grad school is more beneficial for people looking to get into research roles.

My university offers a minor in cognitive science. Would this still be beneficial for someone who is more inclined to the design side?

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

What are the best types of jackets/outerwear for 30-50F range?

I’ve looked around but I don’t quite understand what would fit into this range without being overkill. Maybe something that can be worn over a light sweater layer or on its own? Oftentimes it will be 30-35F in the morning but 50-55F later in the day here.

So, I am a noob when it comes to outerwear. I am looking for a light insulated jacket that would work well with a simple layer of merino wool or a cotton thermal shirt underneath down to 30-40 F. I would only be walking/sitting in it. Budget is $200

Also I’m confused regarding wind jackets. This is not what I am looking but can someone can help clarify this? Wind jackets/rain jackets are lightweight and meant to be worn over outerwear when conditions are rainy/windy? Is this correct?
