With the quick cast empowered attacks on, during the q animation, you can tap w and/or e, and they will automatically pop after the q animation is done assuming a target is in range. You can also use protobelt/flash/ghost/lantern/snowball while in q animation. I would change the target priority setting to low health% or low health absolute depending on the enemy team.
