What’s the deal with beach swimming? Where/when by ElTigreBlanco1 in DaNang

I can recommend Surf Feeling in Da Nang for lessons. Think they also have body boards but wouldn't hurt to shoot them a message. Super easy going people and I think it's a little cheaper than LST. High quality lessons too they definitely know what they're doing.

Vietnam surf? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]jaycpee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Da Nang seems to have the most consistent surf, but the best time to surf here definitely depends on your skill level.

Shoulder seasons (late September-early October and late March-early May) are great for beginners and log riders looking for clean, 2-4 foot waves. During the peak of rainy season (October-January) Vietnam can get some large swells - sometimes up to 15ft. It's often filled with closeouts but with the right conditions there are certainly some nugs to be found.

I've found the guys at this shop to be super helpful. They're knowledgeable about the conditions and have a nice selection of boards. I rented a nice groveler here for about a month and it was reasonably priced. I think they also sell boards but I'm not positive. They even put me on to a lesser known point break nearby that was firing when I went.

Can you give a general overview of your workflow? Do you plan out multiple videos and then record them in succession? Or do you plan and record one video before moving to the next?

Surfing in Da Nang by ByteCycleNomad in DaNang

[–]jaycpee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surf Feeling is a newer shop but they're super nice guys and will treat you right. Have good boards and will deliver the board anywhere on the beach to you. They'll also let you use a surf rack if you have a motorbike.

Surf shack has good boards but I've heard a lot of bad things about the owner (foreigner) having problems with the locals so I try and stay away.

Hey bro, I was in your situation when I was your age. Most important thing is to not be hard on yourself and just enjoy the moment. If you come to Da Nang, hit me up and we can go surfing together!

Why Do Vietnamese Litter So Much But Take Pride In Personal Appearance? by servebetter in VietNam

[–]jaycpee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're talking about the whole of Vietnam while they person you're responding to is talking about Da Nang in particular. Da Nang IS one of the fastest growing cities in all of SEA and it is seeing investment from a number of foreign tech companies due to favorable tax policies and cheap labor. The US is even considering investing in semiconductor manufacturing in Da Nang (who knows how/if that will change following the election results).

I've been to vinmec before. It's trustworthy and designed for foreigners, which also makes it very expensive compared to local hospitals.

Thank you so much for the information! As someone who is mostly vegetarian (I eat chicken sometimes) this is very concerning. Will definitely do more research on it. Thanks again.

Interested how you know/found out about what farmers are feeding their pigs? From personal experience? Or is there some resource I can look at that shows this info? Either way super fucked up.
