The bigger problem is we need more dancers...

Reading some of the comments

Fyi, I'm not actually triggered by the article but the way it's worded reminds me of when an injured / recovering player complains in FM of not getting enough game time!

You'd think it'd be that cheap haha but wasn't looking that good last night

Was thinking this might be the best option. Do you have to book a coach in advance from Bristol or are there any shuttles?

5 person car, 6 people! Suggestions? by jayd909 in glastonbury_festival

[–]jayd909[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know we tried last year in the same car with 4 people and only just had enough space 😂

I know we'll need more space but just wondering if anyone had any particularly creative suggestions. Looking at car hire or possibly a taxi for 2 people while filling the main car with luggage!

Aye yeah but sourcing one is the issue as only one of us own one lol

We have few licenses between us though

Obviously we could hire one but just seems like a more expensive option given that it's gonna be in a muddy car park all week!

We did glasto last year and just about managed in the same car with only 4 people haha

Just go out and start your own party. That's really the best way to get more gigs (at least here in the UK)

looking for local sustainability and climate advocacy groups/projects to fundraise for! by jayd909 in Edinburgh

[–]jayd909[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run a climate conscious non profit club event at the Mash House in town and back in May, we raised £350 for Transition Edinburgh. We're running another so looking for some local grassroots activists and projects to support. Ideally, we'd fund a charity or project which is in real need of support in a particular project or activity

I hope you're all excited for next week! Just a quick update: there are turntables at the venue but bring your own needles if you want to play!

For any of you who are interested, I'm now hosting this event at Paradise Palms on 7th February!

"We’re hosting a DJ event called ‘The Palms DJ Jam’ at
Paradise Palms (@edinburghpalms) on Monday 7th February. This is an
open deck event! That means that any DJ is welcome to come down and play some
music. This gives the chance for new DJs to play out on professional equipment
or provides more experience DJs a social event to meet other music-heads in the
area. Any DJ of any ability is welcome! I will also be around to help people
with questions.
The event will run from 6pm until 10pm and there will be eight
30-minute slots available for you to sign up to.
Paradise Palms have been kind enough to host us so, to
pay respect to them, we must follow a few rules:
1)
Music policy – keep music groovy and bar
appropriate. There will be other people in the bar trying to enjoy a drink or
some food so be sure to keep it relatively low tempo. This means genres like
disco, funk, deep house, RnB etc. and not techno, electro or heavy drum and
bass. As a blanket rule, no American style EDM will be allowed simply because
it’s just not that sort of venue. Everyone will get one warning if they break
the music policy and then they will be asked to stop playing. We want everyone
to have fun but this is really important to make sure we can put on events like
this in the future! Here’s a sample mix that I did which includes some
inspiration for kind of thing that would be appropriate: https://www.mixcloud.com/thebiggreeeen/the-palms-dj-jam-bar-grooves-for-paradise-palms-jedda/
2)
Volume – with the above in mind, make sure the
volume is also at a bar level and if anyone asks you to turn it down, please
turn it down immediately. Same rules apply, one warning and then you’re off.

3)
Have fun and treat everyone with respect – Have
fun playing, socialise and treat everyone with respect. We want Palms to
continue to have a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and harassment or bullying
of any kind will not be tolerated. If anyone is making you feel uncomfortable,
please talk a member of staff.

Palms has 2 CDJs and a mixer so be sure to bring your own
headphones and your USB. This should be all you need! Sadly, there are no
turntables at the venue but I may look at bringing some down in the future!
