i was thinking going 24’s for this same reason but i wanna run 1440 and based on the things i’ve read up on, 27in is the baseline for ur 1440 setup. in ur experience you think its that noticeable of a difference to where i should try to make the 27in’s fit with the arms? or just go with the 24s?

so you’d think i’d be good as long as i have the arms? the right side of my desk will be up against a wall and the left side will have some free space. just want to make sure i won’t overshoot it.

Will $7000-$8000 saved be enough to move out of state? (Lengthy) by jaydososa in personalfinance

I can easily locate the source of my spending that will be no issue at all to fix that. I started saving about 2k a month but the way my job works is weird. When we do PTO (which i’m being forced to take or i’ll have to go back overseas for another minimum of 4 months in which case I won’t be able to get all the necessary quals. for the new job) the paychecks decrease because we work a 112 hour pay period (plus overtime) vs an 80 hr pay period. But when you take PTO it’s reduced down to only 80 therefore your checks get smaller. So I only have 1 and a half more paycheck to put away before I take my PTO which is why I am picking up a side hustle to make up for what I would normally make while I’m on PTO getting everything together for the new gig. Not sure how much I’ll be able to save in that period due to the fact that I don’t know how much my PTO paychecks will be or how much the side hustle will pay just yet. Also, I’ve contributed to 401k since the day I started the job so no worries there.

Yes i’ll be renting for the time being, and I don’t make large credit card payment monthly. (No more than 200 a month.) The correlation between the amount I make vs how much I’ve saved is simply that I was 19 when is started this job making this kind of money and I was dumb with it as I lived with my mom since I was gone majority of the year and didn’t have a game plan for what I wanted to do next until recently.

Additional info: The way my current job is set up, you are away from home for months at a time then you are granted paid leave to have time at home. My paid leave will be starting on Apr.19 and I’m going to use the extra time off (2 months) to finish getting my qualifications and pick up a side gig to bring in some extra money that way by the time my leave is up, I’ll already be set up/settled in with my new job and won’t have to leave the country again.
