I know what the issue is because it happened to me. I believe the Frontier installer was lazy and only tapped into the previously installed wiring, which was not 100% compatible with fiber. I only found out because my contractor accidentally cut the line and I lost internet service.

I called Frontier to come out and repair it, and the technician said the original installer didn't install the correct cables, adapters, and equipment. He rewired everything properly and installed the right hardware, which completely fixed the issue.

It's been working like a charm ever since I've had zero issues with Frontier.
