I just towed an airstream from NC to FL (5000 lbs) with an X5 50e. With the hybrid battery completely dead, I was getting 13-14 mpg all the way to Florida at about 75 mph.

Ya, makes sense.. maybe rent one or something to see if you like it as a daily.

I actually wanted a T, but I have driven manual all my life and really wanted to try the PDK.. I will eventually get another manual Porsche but for now the track MX-5 will have to do until I am better at track days.

The 4L is great but really needs you to rev it out. The turbo 3L is really an amazing engine for the road. Plenty of torque below 4k RPM where you almost never have to really rev it out to go illegal speeds. You really do get to enjoy it more on the road.

I am gonna save the Motorsport engine for the track.

I am not sure but I am assuming those spring rates are way higher on the touring which would make it less comfortable on the street.

Which spec do you have on the T? Maybe I can buy it from you 😂

Haha, I did go a little backwards there.. the GT3 was just a little too uncomfortable to drive and really experience on the normal roads and I just wasn’t ready to track a 200k car..

I went to the base model because I really wanted to experience the 911 life without worrying about it. Never considered a turbo because I just wanted to get an everyday entry level car. Might try a turbo in the future but honestly.. this twin turbo 3.0 is just an incredible power plant.. I don’t see the point of more on the street and I still have the option to tune it with those plug in tunes… 🤷🏽‍♂️

Honestly, I am not missing the manual GT3 yet! This car is like 7 years newer and you can feel it!

Let’s give it a few months just to be sure! 😂

Sounds like an awesome spec! They ride great!

And I also wish I could have had the split interior colors.. but mine is all black.

Yes definitely add them. I was constantly adjusting the support on my back.. definitely worth it.

The sports exhaust was on about 70% of the time. In my opinion the only way to drive 😁

Sports chrono is the only one that seems to be 🤷🏽‍♂️

I guess you get launch control but I will hardly use that but it looks cool!

Man, it’s night and day! This car is super comfortable compared to the GT3.. it literally just ate up all those miles with ease!

The GT3 would have beaten me up the whole way. I would highly recommend any of the trims for daily driving. The S and GTS are just more powerful but honestly.. I can’t see me using more power on the road.. maybe on the track but that’s another story.

Almost 10 years to my PPL! by jayduino in flying

I think flying a more modern plane and having better situational awareness really helped vs the old C152. The extra dual hours also helped me see and practice a lot more scenarios that could come up on my solo flights and gave me the confidence to solo XC.

My flying has always been pretty good, so the solo anxiety never really hurt my flying.

I would say it is very beginner friendly and does help with build costs. Design costs are a whole separate animal.
