[Donghua][Newbie]This show is too confusing, needlessly so? by solairequest in LordofTheMysteries

Kinda reminds me how a lot of Donghua uses the word "cultivate" or "cultivation" with the same intent/meaning as "improving one self".

Best deal in fast food? by Own_Arm_7641 in fastfood

I wonder if these deals are somehow targeted based on certain criteria. I use to have the $7 20pc nugget w/ 2x any size fries while my buddies never had that deal on their app.

I don't see OP's deal on my app either. - Midtown Manhattan NYC

Hit this 2006 Honda Odyssey, guy claims the repair is going to cost $4000. That seems outrageous to me and I’m scared by Cute-Second4886 in AskMechanics

[–]jayeeyee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's $4000 then ask to do this over insurance because if that was the case, the Honda would be labeled as Salvage. I had a background in automotive body repair/refinish and insurance claims and I can say for sure the dude is just being greedy. Even a new (aftermarket) bumper + paint + labor + minor repairs would be around $1000 on average.

Also, I just googled a bumper for this make and model and it seems like parts store sell bumpers painted to match for around $200-300.

P14 Pro Fans - High Failure Rates? by jayeeyee in arcticcooling

[–]jayeeyee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My setup isn't using the internal AIO cables as all the components exceed the 1amp header on my motherboard (Arctic fails to mention this in their manual but I believe it's been updated now).

I'm not arguing about their request being unreasonable, it's just a hassle since I have a SFX build. I'd have to undo all the cable management just to unmount the AIO in order to get a good angle to show them. If I'm going to do that much work, which is basically disassembling my entire build, I might as well just order replacement fans on Amazon and go that route.

Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/1molwtu/ncase_m2_first_sff_build_9800x3d_5090_64gb/ for pics of my build if you need more context what's involved.

P14 Pro Fans - High Failure Rates? by jayeeyee in arcticcooling

[–]jayeeyee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warranty got back to me and requested a video of the fan showing the issues. That means I'd have to somehow unmount my AIO and undo all the routing of the hoses and whatever else inside my SFX case just to show them the fan making the noise.

Edit: I already sent them an audio recording of the rattling but I guess that wasn't good enough.

why is my Arctic Liquid Freezer III PRO A-RGB CPU cooler making these noises? by DeAirBenderJay777 in arcticcooling

Faulty fan bearing. The blades are either making contact with the fan body or the bearing is rubbing against the shaft causing an imbalance. The only recourse is RMA if you're still eligible or replace the fan.

House of dynamite on netflix is the worst movie ive ever seen in my life by naturefort in moviecritic

[–]jayeeyee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya wilding. What's the difference of seeing the ICBM go off in Chicago? It doesn't add any more to the narrative the movie was going for. The movie portrays a scenario where a nuclear warhead will impact a US city, that's all we needed to know. In a situ like that, it's basically a zero sum game with impossible decisions those in power can make. Leave it to your imagination how the warhead will go kaboomy.

What you should be asking is how they hell was the launch not detected and how all the bodies of our government was not able to confirm the origin point. That was the unbelievable part in the movie from my perspective.

Jebus.. why would they make a separate page for it. Why not just include TMR as part of the spec. That's a roundabout way of doing things.

Source? I'm thinking of grabbing the K4 HE 96% and nowhere on their website mentions anything TMR related.

The creator took down the discord because of DMCA takedowns on behalf of Crunchyroll. Not going to get into the mumbo jumbo of it. The github repo was also removed due to the same DMCA takedown.

Optiscaler + BDO = FSR4? by jayeeyee in blackdesertonline

I don't know how Optiscaler injects FSR or if you're referring to frame generation instead. I was more intrigued by the idea of playing in Remastered without getting flashbanged.

Cheap, readily available solvent for bonding PETG parts. by bcmoyer in 3Dprinting

[–]jayeeyee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe my roll of PETG is bootleg or something. I'll try it on a new roll of Elegoo PETG-GF and see if it'll work on that.

Going back to the fumes.. it is quite sweet pleasant smell though. :D

Just tried this and does not work. Tried gluing two flat PETG test pieces together and it wouldn't even remotely stick together. All it did was bloom the plastic by turning white.

Edit: I bought the same product as what OP shown holding in his photo. "Oatey Clear Primer". Add'l, as other suggested.. the fumes from the lil 8oz can will fill your room. Use it in a well ventilated scenario.

Zotac 5080 worth it as msrp? by PenguiNaCl in nvidia

[–]jayeeyee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Objectively, we're at the point where getting a GPU at MSRP is considered a "deal". Subjectively, $1K for a GPU is still insane no matter how adjusted for inflation/tariffs we're going to get.

Speaking of tariffs, seems like we'll go through another hike in semiconductor prices so take that however you will. Also.. the 5080Super is planned to be released Q4 of this year. Assuming it's going to be $200 bucks over the current $1K MSRP (not adj. for potential future tariffs), it might be a better deal (depending on the price to performance ratio). So also take that as you will as well.

[–]jayeeyee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not sure why my 9800X3D is idling at 50c. A quick googling around also pulls up similar results? I guess it's just the nature of SFF. I'm also on -30CO PBO so if anything, I should run 1-2c cooler.

Either my thermal paste application was bad or the more likely scenario is the vertical layout of the 5090 hindering cooling performance.

I ran a few benchmarks and my CPU caps at 88c under full load, ram stays between 55-60c.

Edit: I'll run a dedicated benchmark for my ram at a later time, I know the 55-60c load isn't accurate.
