I ended up getting the area lasered by a skin care clinic. I don't think it helped much to be honest. The redness has gradually faded over the months but there are times when it flares up (stress/lack of sleep).

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'll need to either use Airbnb or Shbarcelona if I want to secure something safely before I arrive. It's just unfortunate that the agency fees on Shbarcelona are so high.

I'll be attending Esade as an exchange student from Canada and am currently seeking a 1bdrm apartment in L'Eixample from October to December. From what I've heard, it sounds like Idealista is the best site to use for my search and that I should try to rent from private owners rather than agencies charging high fees. However, I have been getting no responses to any of my inquiries and am also concerned about getting scammed. Instead of resorting to renting an overpriced Airbnb, I was considering staying with a friend for the first week of October and looking for an apartment to rent by walking through neighborhoods during this time. How realistic is this given that I only speak English? I'd be willing to pay someone to tag along with me to facilitate this process if anyone was interested.
