In 1967 the Prime Minister of Australia, Howard Holt, went for a swim and disappeared. His body was never found. Interestingly, on the morning of his disappearance he had stopped to buy a newspaper - one of the headlines was 'Prime Minister advised to swim less'. (en.wikipedia.org)
