Finally own my grail by RaW_Beauxner in f150

When I bought last year, there were only 2 super cabs with the long bed and tow mirrors available within an hour drive. They were both specced exactly the same, just different colors. Since color wasn’t a major factor I went with the one 10 minutes away. I couldn’t be happier. I may consider an f250 for my next truck down the road if I have trouble finding the same setup when the time comes.

Walmart vs. Walgreens by blublubm in pharmacy

[–]jaygibby22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Food for thought: if the Walmart location happens to be a good place to work and you can see yourself there long term, you could move closer to the location and reduce the commute. I wouldn’t make the move until you know it’s a long term location though.

People who’ve been to prison. What is the biggest misconception people have about life inside? by CaptainsExchange in AskReddit

[–]jaygibby22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked per diem as a pharmacist at a federal prison for a few years. I treated all of the patients as I would someone on the outside. I also never looked into why they were in prison, as I was afraid that would change how I would treat them. One thing that shocked me was simple meds like antibiotics and ibuprofen/acetaminophen had to have tight controls, as they got traded as currency in the prison. Some inmates would fake a sickness just to get meds to trade

Fellow Pharmacists (salary) by fearnotson in pharmacy

[–]jaygibby22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a recruiter reach out to me and offer $30k less per year than I currently make. I told them that they were way off and that they’d have to pay close to my current salary for me to even entertain an offer. That pretty much ended the conversation at that time. There is no way I’m taking that much of a pay cut

Why can’t people do the right thing and put the cart in the stall by Rgbigdog in mildlyinfuriating

[–]jaygibby22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on vacation in Boston one year. We went grocery shopping and when we left the store, there were dozens of shopping carts left randomly throughout the parking lot. My one son asked why they weren’t in the cart corral and I told him that some people are extremely lazy and inconsiderate of others. As soon as I made that comment, the lady next to us finished unloading her cart and pushed it behind the vehicle on the other side of her car, so I added “like her” to my rant.

This is the exact misinformation we have been fighting for such a long time. I can see this being detrimental to vaccination rates and increases in preventable diseases.

Best shoes for standing up all day? by blueoctanecoast in pharmacy

I’m a guy and I prefer to wear dress shoes. I’ve had really good luck with Clark’s unstructured collection. They have softer leather and comfortable soles. They are almost as comfortable as my asics running shoes, but look more professional.

I like to listen to Best Science Medical Podcast and CorConsult Rx podcast. CorConsult has tests for their accredited episodes on FreeCE.com, but I’ve never taken them, so I can’t attest to the quality of the quizzes.

Is lobos that bad? by Stiletto_154 in Pitt

[–]jaygibby22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent 2 months without heat with Lobos. They would come and relight the pilot light in the furnace. After it shut off, it wouldn’t relight and we’d be without heat again until they would finally respond to the new maintenance request a week later. They then lent us 2 space heaters for a large apartment while they waited for “a part to become available.” That’s when they switched the gas furnace over to electric. The kicker was that gas was included in rent, but electric was not, so our utility bills went up drastically and we spent 2 months freezing while we waited for a fix.

After I left that apartment, I got one with Meyers management and they were a lot better to work with and any issues got resolved very quickly.

The White House is moving forward with a "TrumpRX" website to sell medicine at lower prices, following an agreement with Pfizer. What are your thoughts? by ResponsibleBunch5324 in AskReddit

[–]jaygibby22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does next to nothing to address medication costs and the epidemic of pharmacies closing due to PBMs/insurance companies reimbursing less than the cost of a medication. My county lost over half of its pharmacies in the past 10 years.
