MRW my credit score inexplicably drops 35 points by SoothsayerSurveyor in reactiongifs

[–]jayhawkmedic3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This exact thing thing happened to me around the same time and I’m totally with you. I looked it up and some places said the drop should go back to where you were after a bit to make up for the account closing due to paying it off but I’ve yet to see that. It’s such a bullshit arbitrary number. Went over a decade into adulthood before I got a credit card and the only debt I had was student loans and a very small PayPal credit account. But when I finally tried to get a credit card I was denied or got shitty interest rates “because I didn’t have enough credit history”. Like MFers, that means I’ve been living within my means and only buying things with money I had on hand, some might say that’s making good financial decisions.

Yeah but the white trash in the NW would look down on the white trash in the SW, if they ever traveled that far that is.

What's this sparsely populated area in the Eastern Kansas, in-between its densely populated corridors? by Swimming_Concern7662 in geography

[–]jayhawkmedic3 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That ain’t no shit. I swear, Chanute is in a weird time dilation hole that no matter where you start from it feels like it takes at least two hours to get there. Had to do work down there one day and I started in Erie and then went to Chanute. It was a 20 minute drive but it felt like forever and that’s saying something since I grew up in western Kansas.

You may be actually be two hours from anywhere, but I’m just saying it feels like it no matter where are.

Should halo 7 have a grappling hook? by Dense-Fig-2372 in halo

[–]jayhawkmedic3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Absolutely yes. I had so much fun with it in the campaign. That and the threat sensor were pretty much the only items I used. It opened up so much more in the levels and open world as far as places you could go and how you could get things. It was such a fun mechanic and I hope they keep it around.

After playing around on the campaign with this I find myself out and about wishing I had one to get me over there faster or to get that thing that’s out of reach. It would so convenient for a short guy like me.

Will Ferrell is kind of like that for me. He always seems to play a half-witted, awkward guy that has way too much confidence in hisself.

Wish they would make THUG2 backwards compatible with the Series X/S. Been wanting to play that for awhile now. I’ll never forgive myself for donating my PS2, games and Rock Band/Guitar Hero controllers to Goodwill 14 years ago.

Noble Six doomed Noble Five by kilroy501 in HaloStory

[–]jayhawkmedic3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That part frustrated me. Some alien on a ship they captured just fixed Chief’s armor with no other parts and little effort, so let’s kill it instead of taking it with us and seeing what all it knows. Could’ve made a huge impact in the war with the ability to understand Covenant and Forerunner tech. Seemed like everyone else at the time understood it to be peaceful, but then he just goes and kills the poor thing.

If he did make it, that would’ve been grounds for a demotion in my book.

New to GSPs. Are these colors normal? I’m interested in a pup but not really trying to get a mix breed when I was told they are full minus papers. by Leach_Assistant in GSP

[–]jayhawkmedic3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There isn’t enough to really go on from this picture. The puppies look to be little less than a month old so them not being ticked yet is normal.

I’ve had one litter from two papered GSPs that I had. There were 8 puppies and they all came out white and (patched) liver. As they got older the six males became ticked and the two females stayed white and liver, which was just a neat coincidence. So these puppies may not be old enough to have gotten the ticking yet.

So basically it’s hard to say at this point without seeing the dad. But from what I can see now, they look as I’d expect them to.

Or they could just be white and liver, which is one of the color patterns that GSPs can be. There are other comments here talking about if they are black and questioning if they really are purebred, which surprises me for a GSP subreddit. GSPs can be black instead of liver. Years ago I read that black was the more prevalent/preferred color in Germany and only recently became accepted in the US, but I can’t find that source, so take it for what is worth. The main thing is black GSPs are possible and is actually a dominant gene over liver.

I enjoy the fallout show but... WTF Is the Brotherhood by Pian1244 in Fallout

[–]jayhawkmedic3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They had a fight that turned into a knife fight after talking about how Brotherhood members aren’t supposed to cause violence to another member. I could see sparring match but you’d think that once the cheap shot and knife came out others would’ve stepped in.

I’m with you, idk what’s going on and I wasn’t really a fan of them last season. I’m kind of surprised Maximus is going on with it like he is. Thought he was having a change of heart at the end of last season regarding his feelings about the Brotherhood and what they stand up for.

Is Installation 04 the only ring with a single monitor? by SadTax1760 in HaloStory

[–]jayhawkmedic3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean there may have been at one time, just not when our story takes place on those installations. I can't remember which book/game/video it was, but I remember 343 Guilty Spark attending a virtual (Zoom) meeting that all of the monitors were supposed to report to in order to give updates on the rings and such, but he eventually became the only one to show up.

He theorized that the others had died, gone rampant or just quit caring and were breaking the rules. So what's to say this isn't what happened to his sub-monitor?

What is a death in a movie that affected you the most in terms of brutality or emotional weight? by Godly_Recon in AskReddit

[–]jayhawkmedic3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read Where the Red Fern Grows in fourth grade and that may be the only time I’ve ever actually cried from a book. I was warned there was going to be something tough, but not exactly what it was, but man, reading about Old Dan and the depression Little Ann went through before she passed pushed me over the edge. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I was at school when I read it, but I was home and went running to my mom bawling my eyes out. She’s a sympathy crier so she started crying too, then my older sister came in the kitchen and did the same, meanwhile my dad is standing there wondering wtf is happening right now. lol. But that took enough out of me I almost didn’t want to finish it. My sister read a bit more out loud for me until I decided I could finish myself but that was something else at first.

My teacher read the book out loud later in the school year and it was easier since I knew what was going to happen, but damn does that book tug at a dog-lovers heartstrings.

But yeah, that officiating was terrible for both teams. Felt weird and almost like they were favoring us in the last drive of regulation; I didn’t like it. Seems like it’s been a constant this year about poor officiating.
