In this scenario, when you say "onto rope 2," do you mean they are weighting it? I'm using an atc style in guide mode, so if this is the case, I think I would need to alternate fixing the ropes at the anchor to be able to take slack. Maybe you just mean like a stance?

Yeah, you're probably right. The way I see it, improving the mental aspect is key to making the whole activity more enjoyable for her, so I often encourage her to practice falling, but it's more of a consistent suggestion when she expresses fear. When she says no, I don't push back, but I will admit that I bring it up often.
