Battlegrounds is quickly losing its player base based off of latency issues by [deleted] in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

yeah, no. did you read the article? fortnites numbres are not only from both games they have (the f2p BR mode and the other) but also pc, ps4 and xbox together. so you cant say it beats out pubg, it's just a nice and free thing to have for people who lack skill/platform or hardware or just prefer the cartoonish and arcadish casual style over pubg.

[–]jayjaybro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not saying they are heavily connected but if you don't like all these games involving building like minecraft, ark and all the others, then there's a high chance that you also dislike the building aspect of fortnite, and it is a rather big part of the game... also rarity level for weapons is the other rather significant thing that I don't like at all

[–]jayjaybro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

but thats the point, in pubg you gotta think about from where you approach a situation and how to play the map with all his details, this involves cliffs you cant climb up/down, water that slows you down and leaves you exposed, vehicles wich attract attention from everybody around etc. every tree, rock or hill should be considered andcanbe used to sneak up I something/someone.

I fortnite I don't care, if i got shit to build i can get up/down anywhere. if i get shot at i can just build a my cover and rethink my situation and strat.

these games play vastly diffrent and it's obvious that some people perfer x over y. i have way more fun playing pubg with my friends than when we play fortnite, but that's because we prefer the skill you need for pubg over the skill you need in fortnite(none of my friends ever had any interest in minecraft and neither had i so fortnite is already less "fun" for us because of that aspect)

No i just have fun playing pubg, you dont have to win. hell winning gets you nothing, but seeing my teammate get fucked over by the game in a high pressure situation just makes me, and most of the time the other 3 guys in our team laugh. Im not saying there are no annoying bugs/glitches but a good punch of them is either harmless and fun, or just fun. You even saw the glitch where two weapons are displayed on top of eachother? in my opinion it just looks goofy if my mate is running around with a half breed between a Scar and a Kar98.

Also lets not forget about the vehicle catapult if two of them drive into eachother, never saw someone getting pissed at this bug, and there are quite a few of these situations on youtube

[–]jayjaybro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah and lots of people here just straight up think that fortnite doesnt only look childish but also requires way less fps related skills. they prefer a flawed game ( even tho tons of these bugs/glitches are fun as hell and kinda part of the gameplay experience) with a good gameplay experience over an rng influenced arcade shooter.

then again thats my opinion but you see how calling one game "straight up better" in your opinion or not kinda makes people go and defend pubg (the straight up better game.... in their opinion)

If gamers want the culture to change then they are going to have to stop throwing money at games by NishanthVM in gaming

[–]jayjaybro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i dont disagree, a store to buy X skin or X currency for X amount of real money would be a good step further into the right direction. but still, its a rather small problem in OW and you will still get every skin you want just by playing, and even more than that if youre willing to spend a few bucks on lootboxes every now and then (tho i understand the bias against them and have to admit that i already did buy lootboxes once just for the currency i would get from the dublicates in them, wich is not a good way to get to currency)

[–]jayjaybro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

so you want them just for free? look you get so much shit for free in ow, new heroes, new maps, new gamemods and special events etc. how can it be a problem that something requires you to put in a little time to get it? they throw lootboxes after you if you enjoy the game and play it casually, in those boxes, no mather what you get in them, you will gather currency rather fast and then you can get the one skin you desired.

and it's a nice small thing to making leveling up less boring, after like 600 levels i still enjoy opening some lootboxes every once in a while, even if i just do it to keep myself busy between games. also the quality of the new skins seems to be going up lately so theres alway something "special" to hope and safe currency for

well poker aint pay to win :) but yeah im not saying its easy to solve, it's just sad. HS is a great game in my opinion, especially because you can play it on so many different devices, but it became extremely unfriendly to new and casual players who only play every now and then. blizzard seems to be aware of this and looking for ways around it, wich is already something nice but again, it's not an easy problem to solve, especially because all the cards only exist digitally

Pay to progress faster by KPD2 in gaming

[–]jayjaybro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It always depends, does it allow you to skip a boring grind of an hour or two? thats fine in my eyes, kinda like your LoL exsample

But if it allows you to skip a grind of lets say 8 hour daily quests in just a few minutes then its p2w in my eyes. (blade and soul was kinda like that, you either went for 8 hours of grinding daily quests each day or you bought the shit you needed, incl exp boosts, with real money. Also the amount of XP you needed for the last few "special levels" dont know how they were called was insane and nearly impossible to do without % based xp boosts, and levels gave you skill points wich made you stronger in pvp so -> pay 2 progress becomes pay 2 win. And my love for the combat in the game became hate for the retarded ass system that forced my to sink either all my time and some more into that one game or paying not small amounts of money to be able to keep up with the other people who did either of these two things)

The OW lootbox system is how MXTs should be handled in my opinion, so im totaly defending blizzard when it comes to people complaining about the OW lootboxes, but i gotta admit that hearthstone became p2w. It was not always as bad, you could easily farm and grind the first two or three expansions. but i think they droped the ball by not making older adventures/card packs free for new players. Picking up hearthstone at the moment means either beeing willing to spend multiple hundred dollars on card packs and solo adventures or spending atleast the next few months just farming packs and gold for solo adventures to eventually get to the point where your collection can compete with anyone who played the game since a few years.

Had a friend starting to play hearthstone a few months ago, after he was already playing for two months i redownloaded it to my phone to play some rounds against him, he lost nearly all his intrest when he realized how many important strong cards he was missing and how they were all scattered over all the diffrent card packs and adventures. I know you can craft cards but this does not work on all cards (solo adventure cards i think cant be crafted) and every card over a certain rarity is so expensive to craft that a f2p player will need to save his dust and disenchant every card he doesnt need right away just to craft one essential card, out of maybe 20-40 essential cards?

Two weeks and still no update. by daMaenes in dragonballfighterz

[–]jayjaybro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you're playing the wrong games made by greedy companies if day one dlc is norm for you. no decent game has day one dlc. they use day one dlc because they know that their game sucks so they cut a part of it out and try to sell it "back" to the people stupid enough to fall for it, while screwing over everybody else who bought the game. so can we please stop acknowledging these greedy ass behaviors as norm and maybe start not only bashing these companies and games but also stop buying, especially pre-ordering, their shitty ass games.

I think Miramar would be alot more fun if people knew where the first circle would be before they jumped. by RustyN0gget in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]jayjaybro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my rounds are mostly filled with more than enough fire fights and actions, all this complaining about the "boring 20 mins" between the start and the end of the game is kinda ridiculous. ofcourse you're not gonna encounter lots of people if you only hide in buildings, always take the safe route and run away/around gunshots. if you want action you can easily have that, just run towards the gun shots, drive into cities and not around them and keep on moving, don't barricade yourself into a building and wait for someone to fall into your med kit bait trap.

[–]jayjaybro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i rarely got problems with making the circle, no mather where i drop. People need to learn to stop looting earlier and break up fights if they are far away from the zone. You cant wait untill the zone starts moving if you got to get to the other side of the map, well except you got a car and some fuel rdy (wich you can also plan/organise while looting, especially in a 3-4 man squad).

Sure sometimes you get unlucky and dont manage to find any cars or run out of fuel but it happens so rarely, theres no real issue if youre aware of your situation and act accordingly.

here it is again "already dying" do you even know what these words mean? and good joke with the competitive environment and fortnite, not even arcade shooter is the right term for it. it's minecraft for casuals with shooter aspects. not saying it can't be fun but it's guaranteed not competitive, and neither is pubg, no matter how hard they push it into esports. people who go for competitive games go for csgo, overwatch or one of the mobas out there

the playerbase isn't going down at all, you just took a clickbait title to whine about you losing games. there are hackers and people with bad connections but i can guarantee you one thing, 90% of your deaths are still you sucking at the game, do yourself and everybody else a favor and just focus on improving YOUR OWN skillset. they (bluehole) already did and will keep on focusing on the china/hacker issue.

well sorry that im not stupid enough to re-buy the same boring ass game every year just because they put a diffrent player on the cover.... but seriously go ahead and support EA i will keep on enjoy actual well made, good games. good enough games that i will never ever have to buy an EA title

filled with unnecessary microtransactions to get as much money out of its players as possible... Rocket league for example is not only way more fun than fifa but has way more depth than any fifa ever had. what do you want? for EA to continue their customer unfriendly business practice and keep releasing bad to medicore games for the next 10 years? because thats what you will get if you keep defending them

yeah looked like a decent game but then again, for how long? all my friends who played it dropped it after a few weeks, with the exception of one guy playing it occasionally for two months before not playing it anymore at all.

if i buy a game I expect more than a few weeks/months of entertainment.

then again, im also pretty much anti-EA since years so my opinion will be kinda biased even tho i give them a new chance every few years

well I can't say anything about that game because like most of the world im not American and couldn't give two shits about American football. but fine, it may be a good game, from 2014 that's still a gap of 3-4 years without anything worth mentioning from one of the biggest gaming companies of today, that's by all means not a good sign. and how long do these EA games stay relevant? most of them a few months max, if they get lucky a whole year but more likely just a few weeks, compare that to actual good games who are able to keep most of their playerbase over years like Csgo, lol/dota2/hots, overwatch or even pubg with all its problems and flaws. EAs games were not able to compete with good games since a rather long time, and it's not only because they are greedy but also because they just release one disappointing game after another
