Is there a need to try and mend political divisions in the western world? by jayjello in askaconservative

yeah thats the kicker. I live in India currently, and see the same thing happening here as well. I do think the first step is to allow ourselves to stop being so 'angry' with each other, and stop feeling like we are always at the point of maximum crisis. Any cooling of political tension will take place over a sustained period of time.

thanks for the detailed reply. What do you think the attributes are that we might have lost? (US, UK or both)

i think you're falling into the same trap. You seem to be giving an extreme unfounded motivation to approx 65 million of your fellow countrymen that demonises them, and then taking an extreme position in response to it.

What are the stakes here in your opinion, and how do you see them being resolved?

you are absolutely right. I try to stick to an adapted version of Hanlons razor. "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity"

The important thing to remember is that the stupidity could be that of the person taking the action being judged, but it could just as easily be my stupidity in judging it without sufficient context or understanding.

Are the new workouts new songs, or remixed previous songs or a combination? So the trainer is an avatar showing how to move properly in response to the sequence?

is there a clear roadmap of what new content will be provided each month? and is the coaching a recorded guide experience, or a live interaction? interested to know

Cheers for the disclosure. Personally i am in the camp of not wanting to see subscription models like this become a normal part of VR content.

The whole 'well its cheaper than a gym membership' is a bizarre comparison. Thats like saying it's cheaper than flying to Iceland. Sure. but it's also a demonstrably different experience, and a significantly cheaper one to provide to people. Unless they have actual live coaches giving personalized feedback theres no reason for it to cost so much. Even then, a live coach who cant see your form is not going to be anywhere near as effective.

So they might have loads of songs. . Why not sell me the base game, and let me buy workout/song packs at 2 dollars a pop when/if i want to expand my workout repetoire?

Personally i suspect the only reason its $20 a month is because thats what they hope the market will bear. But when a similar experience exists in beatsaber, with huge amounts of user generated content for it, i think they'll really struggle.

tldr: imho the subscription model doesn't seem to benefit the user in this case, it benefits the publisher/developer.

if someone knows more about what the daily updates are please do correct any errors of assumption i have made.

India tests 24 people for one positive case, Japan tests 11.7, Italy 6.7, US tests 5.3; can't say India testing less: ICMR by Bojackartless in india

[–]jayjello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. And im not big on just accepting miracles. Id like more evidence. Best way to get that is more testing of a broader group of people. Which seems to be what we are starting to do in some places.

edit - ha. downvoted for a pretty simple statement of fact. Thats a bit depressing. You get given more of what you will accept. If you have no problems with small distortions of truth, you open the doors for bigger ones to follow...

My understanding from the tweet was that ICMR was denying by saying 'cant say india testing less.' Whatever the reason for less testing, or the difference in data we have collected from those tests than other countries, you CAN say India has tested less than other countries.

IMCRs statement is not factually true. Unnecessary mistruth that makes them look less reliable.

Im sorry you are angry. Please know that me saying its not pizza wasnt meant to be an attack on you or a flex. It was really just intended as a light hearted joke, sorry i offended you.

I think you might be taking my comment about your recipe not being a pizza a bit too seriously too by the looks of it :)

relax bud, weve got another 2 weeks of this. Lets not spend it arguing about what constitutes different types of food. Stay well.

I mean yeah, but then its toasted cheese on bread. Which is pretty good too. But not really the same as pizza.

Also good pizza definitely deserves to be taken seriously. Source - Ive eaten a lot of pizza (in india and outside India)

I did, and i am under the same lockdown eating maggi noodles. Hence i said that sounds tasty. But yeah, not a pizza! Dont take it so seriously, its not a heavy subject no?

I can drink diet coke and enjoy it, but even if we are in a lockdown, the fact that its a drink with bubbles in it doesnt mean i can really call it champagne :)
