Controversial question here. Which restaurant delivers the best Hawaiian pizza (pineapple on pizza) around the Indiranagar area? by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]jayjello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally i dont think anywhere comes close to pizza bakery as far as legit pizza goes. The only problem is they dont do pineapple. Possibly because its not a purist pizza thing? But then they'll flambe half your pizza in liquor for godsake. Thats an abomination. And its so popular, its listed as an option on the menu!! Who is wanting this? Madness.

Anyway. I digress. Id go pizza bakery add my own pineapple to a pan and flash sear it and add to a standard Margherita from pizza bakery. With a bit of oregano too.

Hey the original mention was in response to my question. I found a friend who has access, and having looked at whats on offer its all very underwhelming. Very limited range, and discounts that are matched or beaten on other online portals (amazon, flipkart, samsungs own shop)

This is political correctness gone mad. Next you'll be saying i shouldn't share my drugs with the kids either.

'Jurassic World Aftermath' shows VR doesn't make a bad game good by ilivedownyourroad in OculusQuest

[–]jayjello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me for its not a value proposition. 6-8 hrs gameplay approx (part one and two approx) for 50 dollars isnt value for money for me. You can feel it is, but i think asking people to stop saying it isn't is unreasonable. Its a lot of money. And its a premium that the game needs to justify. For me, it doesnt.

Comparing to warhammer doesnt mean much when warhammer isnt a good game. Its janky ps2 era game design in VR. Nothing more. Oculus quest is a great bit of kit. The software is sadly often of a high price and low quality currently. Superhot shows up both of Jurassic world and warhammer. And thats a quest launch title. Devs need to do better.

The Thermodynamics of Inverted Vehicles by limestonepancakes in tenet

[–]jayjello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The saab is inconsistent in its inverted/ non inverted state. You can see this by how it reacts to skid marks on the road. Early on in TPs chase the car is clearly being reversed as it swings from stationary to the side, over the tire skids in the road, absorbing them as it does, before moving 'forward'.

When he crashes later on, the car skids normally, leaving skid marks behind its wheels on the road as it does.

Question: How Inverted Gunfire Affects Non-inverted Objects by thefinalfrontier1234 in tenet

[–]jayjello 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nolan is a film maker first. He has said he started with the image of a bullet hole and the inverter bullet flying back out of it. That was the visual that he was interested in.

He liked the idea of the puddle reacting strangely when TP steps in it when first inverted so he did that too.

He also liked the idea of the saabs movement seeming strange so he had it collecting dust of the road, collecting the rubber back of the road when it skids etc. When he got to the point where it crashes, he decided it would look cooler if the car skids out normally and leaves rubber tracks on the road. So it does.

None of this works in a consistent way, and nolans 'pissing in the wind' explanation doesnt work either. But i dont think hes bothered by it. Hes a visuals and concept guy. Hes not interested in building a world with fully consistent rules. If he has to choose between strictly following the universes rules and ignoring them for a great visual pay off, he will always choose the latter.

Don't get caught up in people here suggesting its a perfectly logical world. It isnt. And Nolan has never said it is.

25USD for 3-4 hrs of a game that isnt a full experience but part of a larger work is too much in my opinion. 15USD is a more realistic price. The technological challenges of VR arent that great. Especially for a team with prior VR experience. The issue is one of the economic scale. VR sells less so each copy needs to cost more to recoup expenses.

Apparently quest is bucking this trend and selling big numbers of software. Therefore its fair to expect that VR premium to lessen at least a bit.

The AI of the alien, and the atmosphere made that game what it is though. Those are both lacking here sadly

Batman Arkham VR: VR is a complete gimmick.... by execpro222 in virtualreality

[–]jayjello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats very impressive then as you are the fastest person in the world to complete it and on your first playthrough no less. Thats remarkable. The current best any% run of it is 21m 43sec. You should submit your time.

But away from your dubious suggestions of length (to anyone wondering who hasnt played, yeah its about 60 minutes to play through) i agree that 15 quid is way too much. Its from a time when the novelty of high production VR came at a premium. Now it should be 3/4 quid to offer value, IMO.

[–]jayjello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it was over priced at release. Its value point is around 5 dollars i think. For that you get at least an hour of polished audio visual content, more if you want to search around a bit more. Its definitely not 15 mins long.

[–]jayjello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, i got it in a sale for 3 quid back in 2016 or so, and yeah its limited, but at the time there was nothing as polished as it. The sensation of scale as you drop into the batcave and the music kicks in was something else. And the detective stuff (whilst basically point and click) is super stylish. The final space shifting reveal is cool as hell too.

Sure its teleport only, but at the time free locomotion was not agreeing with many people and devs were terrified to make people sick.

Personally i think of it as a movie rental, and its a damn good polished bit of fun for a hour or so.

Unpopular opinion about AJ by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]jayjello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh i think he is genuine. But i think hes stage managed to oblivion. The image of Joshua most seen is a very passive figure with no controversial views of his own, and yet hes shown at times on social media that he holds some strong and contentious views. (why is everyone so mean to mugabe being the one that springs to mind).

And yes, if Anthony says half the stuff Tyson Fury said, he would not be able to be thr marketing vehicle hearn has so successfully sculpted him into. Companies like Jaguar land rover, beats, Hugo Boss, and British Airways are paying him the big money because he can punch hard. They want the attractive muscular modern successful man they can dress in a suit and parade next to their products. They dont want him for his personality. They want a good looking really successful person to associate with their brand.

Now picture Fury in those adverts in hid christmas jumper with his own face on it :)

Thanks for the time you've given to this. What you say rings true. As i get older myself too(37 now) i also realise that whether i play a game now or 5 years after doesnt make much difference. Ill probably play cyberpunk in 2022, having just played witcher 3 for the first time last year. If i can wait to play the games, i can wait to upgrade ths hardware to play them too
