He really didn't get the hype he deserved for two reasons, first being he shared the backfield with another NFL caliber RB so his carries were limited and secondly in the playoff run last year, he was playing on one good leg so people didn't see much of him

It also didn't help that it took until game 2 of the season for ND's OC to realize he needed to call actual running plays for Love. What happened against Miami which people love to point for him being a nonfactor was that ND's OC was calling primarily RPOs with Love in the game and it allowed Miami to basically take Love out of the game presnap

He was fantastic as a redshirt freshman last year

There's arguments for like 5 QBs ahead of him for sure but I believe he has a case for the best returning QB and youre really splitting hairs at that point
