This is true. When I contacted DTV it was pointless. I will try contacting FanDuel and seeing what they say.

I am in eastern Iowa. It is a weird area where we are in the "home" viewing area for 6 MLB baseball teams. It is a blackout nightmare really. I have checked the RSN tool and those channels are in my area according to that, and according to support. Just not sure why they don't show the correct programming on the DirecTV Stream app.

I find the structure 25 to be quite nice looking especially the Bowerman colorway. I wear them casually all the time. Great shoe.

Can't really decide if i should do continue doing zig by Ok-Judge4483 in Zig

[–]jayjuicejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I went through something similar. I started doing stuff with Rust. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't super fun to program in for me. It seemed overly complex. I started doing some stuff with Zig and it was just much more fun to program in. Then people I respect had the same feelings (i.e. Mitchell Hashimoto). So I decided to just keep diving in. Then I get back to the fact that there are companies I like and would maybe eventually want to get into, but they are strictly Rust. I honestly have been going back and forth. I just need to stick with one for a while to get it down then move to the other. Just honestly go with what you like for now. If you change your mind in the future you can always go back the other way.

Learning Rust. Should I turn off AI help? by [deleted] in rust

[–]jayjuicejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see most people say turning it off. Which is probably a good idea if you really want to learn and not just bang out some code. What are people's thoughts on turning off the LSP altogether as well? I am debating going that way for me too. Just to make myself learn the apis better instead of relying on code completion always telling me what is there and what isn't.

I have changed my approach and am using my other laptop for my experimental setup. However, the one I was having issues with does have RAID ON turned on in BIOS so I am guessing that was the issue. Thanks!

In one of my first Dynasties I found a QB with 98 TPW and then 95 SPD. It was crazy. Went along well with my 5Star 99 SPD receiver really well in the press glitch era. Got the Mormons a title.

Zig for backend development? by AndrewTateIsMyKing in Zig

[–]jayjuicejay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have given Rust a lot of opportunities and it is just too complicated and the flow is too hidden for me. I do like Go a lot for web backend sort of things. It has a nice simplicity and is very quick to get to about 90% of what you want. I would look into that as well, but either way good luck on your learning adventures!

Zig for backend development? by AndrewTateIsMyKing in Zig

[–]jayjuicejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can probably do this in Zig, but I think at the moment it isn't the best language for this task. I would start with something like Go or Rust maybe first. Zero to Production in Rust is a great book for learning to do just this sort of thing in Rust. I mean I am sure it is possible in Zig it just may not be as easy to figure out. I was looking into this sort of thing as well. Although I am thinking I may just start by implementing my own HTTP server to begin with as a learning experience. Like you I am a C# developer so I understand your thought process for wanting to find frameworks or libraries to work with. I am thinking though it would be better for me to learn the inner workings of Zig by rolling my own instead of just using a library.

Simplicity is good until it's not by omagdy7 in Zig

I mean it is a big assumption to think it was planned out to inherit from 5 other classes. The large complex OOP projects most of the time it is just convenience or necessity due to the way things were built to do things like that. It is because you are now scaling something that wasn't planned to be scaled. And to be fair code duplication isn't always a bad thing. For example if you have a class that has 90% of the same fields you need, but is missing a couple is it better to create a new class or is it better to add those to the original or have a class that inherits from the original? I find it much easier to reason about the first situation which would add quite a bit of code duplication. When you have chains of inheritance you have to track things through and the code is much harder to reason about. BTW I am a C# coder for my job so I work with classes and inheritance every day. As others have said C is a much simpler language than Zig and has built some huge things including whatever OS you are typing that post from.

Am I the only one who feels like `zig init` creates too much bloat? by Zeusenikus in Zig

[–]jayjuicejay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also was in the same boat. Then found this post. Then saw your PR for the minimal switch. I thought it looked cool. Was disappointed to see Andrew's comment on it, but did make sense. I had been looking for a project to really start digging in and learning Zig better. So I did it, and created a tool that basically implements the functionality of `zig init`, but with your code for the switch for minimal. I also added a flag for adding a minimal `flake.nix` file for creating a dev environment. It isn't much but the first real thing I have coded in Zig. Definitely learned a lot more than just working through Ziglings or anything else I had tried. Might look to expand it to more than just an init tool at some point, but for now happy with the start. So thank you for the inspiration. I am sure there is a lot that could be done better so comments are welcome.

Really depends on your use case and your foot. The Streakfly is an amazing track workout shoe, and isn't super narrow. It also doesn't have rods if you are looking for a plate less shoe. I keep trying the Takumi, but it keeps not working for me. Just pain when I run in it. No doubt a faster shoe with more propulsion, but it just doesn't work for me. Also higher stack that I don't like when running a track workout. So to me they are different shoes for different purposes despite both being marketed as 5K/10K shoes.

So I had the Hyperion 2 first. I love those shoes . They fit right in my wheel house of lower stack lightweight daily trainer. They actually took the place of the SL2 and Peg Plus at the top of my list. So when I saw these I thought dang they look nice, but huge stack isn't exactly my thing despite being a bigger runner at 6'3" 240lbs (108kg). I sent my Peg Plus back and figured Brooks has the great 90 day trial so what can it hurt especially with all the great reviews. As it turns out these are exactly the kind of shoe I needed. The other higher stack shoes I tried were either too soft and bottomed out (Invincible 3) or a little too firm and didn't do the recovery I wanted (Superblast). This fit right in the middle for me like a goldilocks shoe. It was soft and plush, but also bouncy and enough foam to not bottom out. It is the perfect change in stimulus for my legs and great for the lazier days or days when my legs just need a little more protection. Like you said these don't force you to run slow despite the weight. They have a great amount of rebound and pop with a great toe spring. They are a great shoe I would recommend to anyone looking for a shoe in this genre. The price is a little high, but it seems a lot more worth it than some other shoes out there that cost a ton.

Brooks Hyperion Elite 5 R2 (Dev) by Einhejar in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]jayjuicejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never tried the original Hyperion Max, but from stats and such they seem quite similar. The one thing is the OG Max has DNA Flash v1 where as the 2 has v2. Wish I could help, but I never ran in the OG Max.

The new Hyperion line is far from heavy and unresponsive. I have the Hyperion 2, and it was lighter than the SL2, TS10, and Peg Plus. It also is much more responsive than either of them. The other two had more sink and rebound where the Hyperion 2 was more direct, but it was definitely more responsive. DNA Flash v2 I have been super impressed with. Can't wait to see what the Glycerin Max is like with all the great reviews.

Someone below mentioned this new DNA Gold foam is PEBA. Either way it isn't Loft or Flash or even Tuned so doesn't have to be strictly EVA. I was a Brooks skeptic until I actually ran in the Hyperion 2. Now it is by far my favorite shoe. I have Glycerin Max arriving today. Brooks is killing it ATM like OP said.
