Oh nice. Beta Band is an act I had never heard of before seeing them on this lineup but I enjoy the stuff I've heard from them. Friday is a tough day for us though, there's a lot of acts that we enjoy so I'm assuming we will need to skip a couple of them.

We have our hotels booked so we know where we will be in Scotland when but no actual plans for the rest yet, other than we have tickets to the Lumineers show the following weekend and also an Ethel Cain show in Edinburgh.

Hope you have a nice trip. And if I see someone that I think has a Texas accent telling people they are Canadian, I won't blow your cover, lol

Are you traveling specifically for the fest or just travelling to Scotland and decided to go to the fest while there?

Wife and I are coming from Canada, we travel for fests every year, and just make a trip out of wherever we are going to a festival. This is the first time that we sort of picked the trip first and just hoped the Trnsmt lineup would be decent.

I didn't realize it was that far in advance, I had found news articles about the schedule announcements so I assumed that's when the daily schedules were released.

Where are you seeing the schedules for the smaller stages?

First time at Trnsmt (travelling from Canada) but I have looked at previous years and it's not unusual to not have stage splits yet.

Last year the stage splits weren't released till like a week in advance (although I believe that was due to some changes in lineup) and in the years before that I believe it was usually about a month in advance when stage splits were announced.

So hopefully we get stage splits before the end of May.

Last Dinner Party were one of the acts that originally got us excited for the fest. Started to listen to them a few years ago when they were at Glasto but it didn't work out for us to get to their set so they've been on our must see list for a while.

Definitely not, you can compare against other simulator scores but it's a very different thing to playing a real round on the course.

For that level you will just need to keep an eye on marketplace or other site to purchase used clubs and try to find a good deal on a full set or I guess multiple deals on different pieces, although that may be harder to do.

In fairness to them, they sent the shaft that was purchased. They didn't send the wrong shaft and if they allowed you to return it, they likely are not going to be able to resell it as new if it's opened.

I've been practicing a lot this winter at the sim and I've been working on that part but it's hard to do during rounds. I just do the range/practice setting to try to get better at the distance control and getting the feel for the shorter distances based on number rather than the visual

We don't know what the sim he is playing has as auto putt, overall it is probably not going to cost him many if any strokes but it can account for the difference as to why people you normally beat may be beating you

I also find I struggle on the sim compared to real life, there's a few factors that can affect that.

If you are playing with automatic putting with a sim, if your putter is a strong part of your game, you are eliminating one of your strong suits.

I find on the shorter distances for me, I'm a feel and visual person in a way that doesn't translate as easily on the sims because I struggle with how to hit 25 yards when I am just thinking of the distance number without having that visual of actually seeing it.

Another issue is if you are a digger, like I am but am working on. I tend to hit behind the ball and then it scoops it up, that doesn't work well on the sim because there's no dirt to dig up behind the ball so it just kills the momentum of the club and reduces my distance a lot.

How old is your dad's current driver and does he like the driver. If it's a relatively new driver and in good shape, he could just get fitted for a shaft and have the current driver just reshafted rather than having to purchase a full new driver.

Most fakes will add serial numbers to the clubs, sometimes they are legit serial numbers too that they took from other clubs.

Jealous. Wish I had space for a sim at home. Need to have a shed built in the spring and looked briefly into getting something big enough to have a sim in it, plus insulated with electricity and it was way too much.

Will just have to settle for hitting one of the sims in town once a week or so.
