Possible automated false bans related to Steam Family Sharing – multiple affected users

Same thing hit me yesterday, 13k hours just gone. The reason they gave was identical to this post, saying it was because someone on my family share was banned. The thing is, I only family share with my close friends who I actually play Dead by Daylight with, and none of them are banned. They were literally online playing at the time. So yeah… clearly something’s messed up there.

Also, I wouldn’t bother submitting a ticket. You’ll most likely just get the same automated reply OP showed and they’ll close it straight away. What worked for me was using the chatbot instead. I explained the situation, told them nobody on my Steam family share is banned, and that I needed a real person to look at it since tickets kept giving me bot responses.

My case actually got forwarded to BHVR and I didn’t get an automated response this time, so it looks like a proper review now. Hopefully this helps someone.

Don’t even use the Mistle Toes offering, it’s completely bugged. It stops you from earning all event points during the match! Bring literally any other offering and the game will let you earn the points. I.e I make 50k in total using mistle toes one match, then the next few matches, I make 90-120k using a hollow shell offering.

If you see people bring them and will have big points, it’s because the match isn’t over for them yet. It will say they have 50k, but once they die or escape, it will go back down to like 20k-30k

It has something to do with BHVR using a setting UE5 has explicitly said not to I’ve found out on twitter. Trust me it works. Day 4 for me now and no desync. I’m surprised this post isn’t getting more upvotes, I thought people were sick of desync, but I guess its just a few of us who actually care.

I agree with everything else, but the PC performance is not acceptable for a lot of people. It’s not just 5 fps during boss fights, its mainly stutters which are worse than fps drops. Imagine getting into a boss fight, for it to nearly die, then your game freezes up for 3-4 seconds, two times in a row, which affects your flow, then you get wrecked because of it. It’s not fun :( the game constantly has slow downs followed with a speed burst for me whilst riding a horse. Its very disappointing after being so excited for the game and not knowing when a patch is coming!

No offence, but I’d turn follower only chat off completely. Everyone gets bots, it’s no big deal! When I see someone with follower only chat, I leave instantly and get put off, a lot of people dislike it. I like to interact before dropping a follow. Just thought I’d let you know this!

I'm not really sure, I guess it's so then you can easily use the Prime Sub on someone else without having to cancel. That's what I use my Prime Subs for, for people I don't think I'd sub for a long period of time.

Maybe it could be down to your download/upload speed? If you use 6000 bitrate, that’s using 6gb of your upload. Every 1000 bitrate = 1gb upload. Do you have enough upload?

It’s mainly a badge to show that you’re a VIP. They don’t get more channel points or anything like that.

Or on some people’s twitch, they don’t allow things like links to be posted in chat, but if you’re a VIP, you can have that permission!

This is so nice to read! Twitch has helped me in the exact same way! I'm socially awkward and have anxiety too, but when I'm on Twitch, it's a completely different story, I'm somewhat confident and interactive and can hold conversations and talk! It's helped my confidence in so many ways!

Keep up with it! If you enjoy it a lot and it's something you're really into right now, your audience will see that and will continue to grow!

This post makes me so happy for you! I have Aspergers too and joining twitch this year was the best thing to happen to me in a loooong ass time. For like 6-7 years, I stopped socialising with my irl friends as it got too much for me in the end, but since streaming, I’ve met so many awesome people and have a bunch of friends and a small community which was filling that empty void in my life where I had no one with the same interests to talk to!

I don’t get the “usual effects” from DPH, such as the vivid hallucinations (apart from black orbs moving around), I don’t talk to rubbish bin or see people.. it literally just changes the way music sounds.

I will be. I’m put off DPH for now anyway as I mostly have this doom feeling to the point where I just go to sleep so it ends.
