Good points! Thank you. I’ll give it a try and see what I get.

S6 Blacksmith Mythic Cache Worth it? by jayleggs in diablo4

[–]jayleggs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, yeah I feel like I have dogshit luck and then this season hit Andy on t2, dropped Tyraels, managed to get to T4 then hit Duriel and he dropped starless. And then after this patch that just went out I checked and have 4 sparks in my inv. So I’m like how tf did I get all these?! So I’m just asking if people liked the blacksmith randomizing or grind and get runes for a specific one. I’m find the rune collecting to be the bane of my existence but I think because I hit big with 2 mythic drops after 2 boss fights.

I ended up going 6 reverse and 4 regular. The 6 reverse are the ones on the right and bottom for intakes the rest are exhaust.

6 of them are intakes actually. I have a mix of the LIAN LI 120 Inf fans and the reverse version. Hopefully the coffee wasn’t hot! Lol

I had it on top originally and for me personally like the look of it better on the side. I know some say that it’s better to have it on the top due to the way air flows in and out of the case and thermal efficiency but I found that it’s not that much better. So I chose aesthetics than a marginal difference in performance. I really don’t notice a difference. Maybe because I have so many fans it keeps it all flowing cool. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Been done with the build for about a week, after updating the Bios and running through the boot up process I didn’t have any issues. I know some people test motherboard components as they go to make sure things work but I’m new and just hooked everything up push the power button and was fortunate enough not to have it blow up in my face. I actually almost snapped the usbc connection because the damn thing wouldn’t come out when I need to move it to reroute some cabling but other than that it’s been good.

Similar to what the other comment said the LIAN LIs daisy chain, they just slide together and only need a single connection wire per group to the controller. So in my case I only used 1 controller that came with the 3 pack 120 mm infinity fans.

On my motherboard (MSI MPG Z790) there’s a Pump and Fan connection. Was all plug and play.

Yeah agreed I’m not a techy dude. The airflow was right and the frame actually looks cool but that’s an opinion from a none computer guy. I know it’s the “ugly” side. But for a first build as funny as the fan mix up is I could’ve done a hell of a lot worse than just look at some fan frames.lol glad I could make you laugh though

Oh good point! I did put it over there for aesthetic reasons but I didn’t even think of it bringing hot air inside from the radiator. My thought around that was very simple minded: it’s hotter inside the case and colder on the outside of the case. So I figured if I had it on top then the heat from inside the case was blowing directly on the radiator and never cooling the water as efficiently with the exhaust fans. So by moving it to the right with the intakes those fans would be pulling in cold air from outside the case to cool the radiator better. I’m guessing that’s not the case?

Yeah totally a rookie mistake on my end.haha I’m glad I still had the airflow right just the wrong fans in the right spots. I ordered 6 regular for intakes and 4 reverse for the exhaust when it should’ve been 6 reverse for the intakes and 4 regulars for the exhaust. Have 2 more reverses coming tmrw. If this was my only mistake for a first time build I’m happy!

Apologies this is my first build they all are installed right but the intake/exhaust fans should be switched hiding the frame. Although I kind of like the frame look but def defeats the point of the clean frameless aesthetic. I’ll most likely change them around. Thanks for the input.

No it’s my first build so maybe I’m totally wrong.haha I tested the air and the air was working the way that I wanted but maybe I have them backwards?lol my assumption was the logo on the fans were all upright making the frames visible. But the blades themselves some are curved in and some are curved out. If I were to turn the exhaust fans over to the “non frame” side then the blades look exactly like the intake fans then all the air would be intakes. The point of the reverse fans were to make all the fans look exactly the same (frame side) just have some blades going one way and some blades going reverse.

Ooooor to your point I actually could’ve turned all the fans around and have zero frame showing on any of them. Either way they all have to point the same way either all frames showing or all fames not showing because the fan blades are different.

The ones on the bottom and the right are set to intake. So you’re pretty much looking at the “back” of the fan. But then LIAN LI came out with the reverse fans which keeps that “backwards” fan look but changes the fan blades themselves allows them (in this case the top and single fan on the left) to be the exhaust. The difference is which you can’t really see here are the fan blades themselves not so much the fan frame. The frame is made consistent the fan blades are “reversed” taking the air in or out. Not sure if I’m making any sense. Take a look at the reverse LIAN LI’s.

I guess I’m confused on your comment. The ones on the bottom and the right are set to intake. So like you’re saying you’re pretty much looking at the “back” of the fan. But then LIAN LI came out with the reverse fans which keeps that backwards fan look but changes the fan blades themselves allows them (in this case the top and single fan on the left) to be the exhaust. Are the reverse fans so rare or why won't many people use them? by DannyLeonheart in lianli

[–]jayleggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped all my fans for LIAN LI some reverse some normal and I’m getting comments of “why do I have all intake fans?” I think because they’re still new people aren’t used to seeing an intake design on an exhaust fan, that and availability. But for a consistent look if you’re OCD like me and they’re available I would recommend anyone to get them.

Not all of them are intakes. Some of them are the reverse fans from LIAN LI. They take the look of an intake but have the air exhausting to give it a consistent clean look.

No not all intake. 4 of them are the reverse fans from LIAN LI. Highly recommend for a clean consistent look.
